Excellent breakdown of the Bruins last minute goal that was hotly talked about (towards the end of the video)

Jim Montgomery is not a fan of the scheduling in the #bruins/#leafs series: "I would have rather been here Thursday/Saturday, if I'm being honest. I think we're spending more time in Toronto than Toronto's spending in Boston and we're the home team."

I know it's 100% confirmation bias, but damn, the Leafs give up the most soul-crushing goals at the start and end of each period.

More than any other team in the history of hockey.

Ever.

How you feeling before the big game, Hewsie?

Loaded up on cheap NH booze?

Edit: maybe I'm giving hockey players too much credit, but if your real name was Mahewman, I feel like someone in the room would come up with the nickname "Mayhem."

Trashing Mitch Marner after two games of the playoffs when he suffered a serious ankle injury in the final part of the season just lacks judgement and perspective.

Mr. Cox would be the first to be judging if others didn't do it first. Love his consistency.

I am ready for 7pm. Going to hit the ole beer store on the way home, see if i can find some Oud Bruin to bring some good juju. Should be a good one tonight.

Mahew was the actual nickname back in the day. I had a very Greek grandmother who pronounced "Matthew" as Mahew. Those t's were difficult to pronounce.

Aren't both teams better on the road this season anyway?
- Scabeh

Meh regular season has a lot of variables in it.

When both teams are going full tilt home ice is absolutely an advantage.

Boston is, what, an hour flight? If you give that much of a $hit, fly the team home after the game tonight and come back Saturday.
- Whipper

I am sure the Rangers and caps didn't want a 12:30 PM game to start their playoffs either.

Bruins have it easy.

and my takeaway from this is one media tool from Toronto calling out another media tool from Toronto.

wouldn't it simply be better - if both Cox and Berger went away?

seriously, the moment I used to read either of their names associated with an article or being commentators on a program - channel change

Obviously I have not played hockey at a high level, per the video, but I'm still questioning the wisdom of playing a man-on-man D without a tradeoff when the player leaves a specific zone - like I don't want my D in pursuit of the winger at the blue line and leaving my forwards deep in the zone in coverage. The puck carrying winger is in possession and in movement with the puck while the D is in pursuit with the sole purpose here of limiting his options and ensuring he has reduced time and space.

Maybe the best way to describe it is that to _me_ it feels like the opposition strategy is to pull the D away from the net leaving the forwards in down low coverage - and it seems to work pretty effectively.

The part you're not grasping here is that they're not circumventing a playoff cap that doesn't exist, they're circumventing the regular season cap by getting that player to LTIR until they can hit the playoffs.

Is it legal? Yes, but that doesn't make it not greasy.

I'm also of the well if there's a loophole here to be exploited, why the (frank) are we not exploiting it variety. So there's that. Let's have Nylander break a nail pre deadline and load right the (frank) up just for him to hit game 1 in peak form.

- joel878

If you dont like it boo hoo.

It only needs to be legal.
