Vegas looking like the early powerhouse in the west.
I thought the Canucks were playing today.
Hopefully they use that extra day off to work on target practice. |

Put Silovs in now. We can't win a cup with Desmith. Who knows if we can with Silovs but it doesn't matter cause at least we have a minor shot. Not complaining just being real. Desmith just isn't good enough |

I can see the logic of going either way.
Give DeSmith another game and see how he does. He’s got more experience. But he hasn’t looked strong. Unlikely to be back next year.
Run with Silovs. Could go on a run. Could damage his development. Likely to be the backup next season. |

Yeah there isn't really a great option either way but outside Boston I don't really think anyone has 2 starters. Lots of teams don't have 1. Silovs just may surprise is all. We know what Casey is.
Also here's my off season hot take. Marky doesn't go to the Devils he goes to Toronoto. They figure out cap somehow and make one last push with an actual goalie |

This should be the case. If he sputters with another 4-5 GPG then Silovs gets his shot in GM 4. |

Don't be shocked to See Marky Land in EDM if Skinner can't step up. Holland tried hard to get hime before and heard he is still interested. |

That would work as well. I like Skinner but for him to play like 35 for a year wouldn't be the worst thing and let Marky run with it
Bath salt proposal
Petey Demmer for Brady Tkachuk Pinto and something else. Sign Nedjekovic |

That is total bath salt. Sign a 28 year old back up with only 141GP in his career(not even the greatest stats) to replace Demmer?
I have thought though that resigning Lindholm and something around Petey for Tkachuk would be good for us. |

Ya I think you go with DeSmith, he had gitters in game 2 and I would expect he regroups. Putting a rookie in a rowdy rival barn for their first game... sounds a bit rash maybe.

Brad Marchand makes $6.1M per season. Sometimes long term contracts do work out in the team’s favour. - bloatedmosquito

I would love to see the actual data on how many 7-8 year contracts have been good or bad value. My guess is there's actually more good than bad, but it's hard to say.

I have the same suspicion.
I’d guess the teams are happy with longer contracts more often than not.
Data to back it up would be good, but hard to define “value” either way, especially over time he term if the contract. |

For sure, but some of them on Superstars have been insane value. For example for every Suter and Parise, there is Crosby, Mackinnon, Stamkos ect. Seems like most winning teams have those contracts.

Absolutely awful announcer, we would call him Bob Old, Danny Gallivan was the best ever, hands down. |

Yes, yes, Danny Gallivan to round it out. |

Too bad the mighty leafs lost last night, not going to blame it on refs or Bettman, just usual Leaf playing below their level.
Now I want the Canucks to step up in Nashville, and LA to take care of the Oil.
Go Leafs go. |

If all the Canadian teams lose out in the 1st I’m not watching I have better things to do. |

This team can only grow by going through diversity.
You need a goaltender not named Demko to steal a game.
I have no worries the Petty will find his touch.
Good luck. |
