This team can only grow by going through diversity.
You need a goaltender not named Demko to steal a game.
I have no worries the Petty will find his touch.
Good luck. - DuranDuran

If the team wants to win this series and at least move on to the next, they need the top six and PP to score and DeSmith needs to at least be better than average like he was in the beginning of the season because Demko's likely out for the playoffs unless we somehow make it to the WCF and SCF because I don't see him back for this round or the next. |

Pretty much agree.
I think we could afford to have DeSmith play average if the top 6 and PP started cooking.
Don’t know which is more likely tho (above average goaltender vs top 6 and PP scoring).

If all the Canadian teams lose out in the 1st I’m not watching I have better things to do. - Bettmanhatesus
Yep good point here here. No point watching if all the CDN teams get knocked out.
Golf and Mountain Bike season coming up too.

Why isn’t Petey playing with Joshua and Garland? They’re the true top 6 wingers. Having Hoglander and Laff with Lindholm on the checking line seems to make more sense.
I thought Tocchet would know this. |

I don't know about that.
Lindholm is a good shut down guy and reliable center. Pettersson has been in a three month slump. Why screw up another efficient line.

Well the Lindholm line has played 1 good game together this playoffs. Not really screwing them up, no?
It just makes sense to try anything to get Pete going. If he gets on a role he’ll be a force for the Canucks. Lindholm is the 3rd line center, Laff and Hoglander seem more like 3rd line wingers.
This coaching is just so easy, I’m not sure why they can’t see this. |

It’s only 2 games in, maybe we see that. |

I can see the logic of going either way.
Give DeSmith another game and see how he does. He’s got more experience. But he hasn’t looked strong. Unlikely to be back next year.
Run with Silovs. Could go on a run. Could damage his development. Likely to be the backup next season. - dbot
Go back with DeSmith. If he chokes again, you’re only down 2-1 and you go with the kid. |
