That's for his next team to figure out. Nothing against Marner. Great player. One of the best playmakers in the league. But they're going to have to change the construction of the roster and he's the odd man out. Tavares deal is done in a year and he either walks or signs a new deal at a much lower cap hit. Matthews obviously not going anywhere and Nylander just signed an 8 year extension. Me thinks Paul is gunna want around 13 mil a year |

It may, but that is how concussion type injuries work as well. I don't know if he has one or not, but it's as simple as: Are you having symptoms? Are you dizzy? Do you have headaches? How is your vision?
That's up to him to decide if he wants to lie or not - or perhaps up to him if he has has those symptoms or not. I don't know. Injured players aren't choosing whether to play. Keefe should pick his words better. He's on his way out anyway.
It could be his back. It could be his neck. It could be any number of things that affect his ability to move.
I don't think he would think he needs to be at 100% to play, but if he's at 50% he's going to be bloody useless. - Monkeypunk
If willie isnt 80% ish, you dont play him. |

Hes still injured and was at over a ppg player prior to injury.....and ppg in the playoffs up until this year. I doubt he gets traded. But who knows.
Not his best playoffs, but honestly, it hasnt been any leafs best playoffs yet, Matthews has had one great game. |

Not to keep harping on it - simply pointing out another game in which Leafs score 2 or less - that’s simply not going to get it done - |

Without an elite goaltender, or a goaltender on a heater, I don't think this team can win with it's current makeup.
Look at Boston: two elite goaltenders or at least a defense-first disciplined hockey club of lunchpail warriors making them look better than they are.
Not a lot of standout award show talent there beyond Pasta, but they could go deep just based on how they play.
I mean on paper they look like a bubble/lottery team! |

The problem is 16 is pretty elite defensively along with his offensive skill set -
I would hold off booting him until a new coach can see what he could work with him…

It is getting sickening watching this team fail in the same areas over and over again.
Can’t kill penalties.
Can’t cash in on PP.
Costly breakdowns.
Occasional soft goal.
Out coached.
Big guys not showing up.
Lillybust getting out-muscled on the boards every play.
Marner coughing it up.
Corporate crowd quiet.
Wash rinse repeat. This series will go back and forth but I don’t see us be able to win two in a row… |

Elite goaltenders don't score goals.
Sure look at Boston & how many goals they have scored in the 2 games they won, now compare that to Toronto's goal scoring.
The Leafs have lost 2 games and scored 1 goal in the first loss 2 in the second.
This is a much bigger issue than goaltending.
I don't think there is one team who scored 2 or less goals in a playoff game so far this year and won that game. |

Don't even bother playing the games - just send a note to the NHL saying we give up?
It's 2 games to 1 and the Leafs are more than capable of tying this series up on Saturday, especially if they can stay out of the box and find even some of their special teams success from earlier in the season.
Oh ye of little faith drink the blue magic juice that Zezzie is pouring into your blue jewel encrusted goblets and be loud enough to make Joe Bowen proud on Saturday.
