What a great night, Williams, Odunze, and Tampa loses! - vabeachbear
They needed a DL more than a very good WR. The rumor trade with New Orleans would have turned out well with one of the two DL top rated guys available at #14 ,plus they would have an extra draft choice included in that trade c scenario
I do not see ruffled feathers with either of the beteran starters at WR....justvtarget each ofvthem and the defense c will have difficulty coralline them
About the DL need: Poles can hope and look for a veteran released around the end of training camp and or some kid cut loose who Poles could claim and hope to develop
Same situation and strategy regarding since Poles is concerned he doesn't have enough draft picks to select players who turn into starters or descent depth guys |

At what point do TBL concede they can't win anymore with the Point/Kucherov/Hedman/Vasilefskiy core? Do they let Stamkos walk? |

Florida up 3-0 in the series now and has the opportunity to close it out Saturday. Should Florida win the series the Hawks will select 19th with Tampa’s pick (again). - DarthKane
I cannot fathom what KD would offer and what would sway another GM to swap first round picks. And if KD has a trade partner willing to dance, would thus be a conditional trade? Meaning if the player Chicago wants is actually available
How far would a Caton or Lindstrom fall? Or a dman fall? |

If anyone falls it will likely be Eiserman, but not likely as far as the Tampa pick. |

That’s the trap. So many teams trying to win one more time making bad moves, sacrificing the future. |

Ok Mr. bust guy, I was never in on Fields but I had an open mind and he was starting to improve. Turns out too little too late. But I think this overly cocky wiener they just drafted has a chance to make everyone around here forget Trubustsky. Hope I'm wrong.

I don't think they afford Stamkos extension they kinda back themselves into a corner. Time to rebuild |

1. Glad Poles is doing the rebuild and not you (no offense). If Poles would have passed on Odunze, he would have ruined all the ju ju he's built up
2. Drafts not over, assuming he'll trade down once or twice and get a few more picks. I'd like to see Braswell from AL and Van Pran from GA.
Good thing about 3 tech DT, is you need a few traits, and you can be molded into a good one. Also, think they believe Dexter is going to be beast soon.

This is a horrible mistake by the GM and will look bad in the event Vlasic's development levels off or if he becomes a legit top 2 defenseman.
Bouchard is making $3.9 on a bridge and is a point a game player.
This is an overpay if Vlasic turns out to be a guy who doesn't add offense. But worse, if he turns out to be a guy who develops into a 40 point 2-way stud, then he is going to be a UFA at 28 in the prime of his career.
GM 101: Sign him to a bridge deal and make him motivated to keep stiving to be a top player or if you believe so strongly that he is a cornerstone sign him to an 8 year deal and capture his prime years.
With this deal, the Hawks did neither.

How big a loss was Sergachev for almost the whole year and playoffs? My guess is Stamkos becomes a free agent, but there is plenty of talent still playing at a high level above, plus Ciarelli and Hagel to still be a contender.
Florida is the team that has to win this year. How can they afford to sign Reinhardt, and /or Montour? Panthers have no draft capital either. |

Wow. Un(frank)ingbelievable, but at least you're consistently hypercritical for no good reason.
Bouchard's deal ends at the end of next season. I bet the Oilers would love to have him at $4.6m for the next 6 years.
Vlasic in one year has established himself as a legit top 4 dman. How many top 4 dmen are making more than $4.6m???
You're the only person I've seen question this deal but like I said, it tracks.

Are we allowed to have nice things in Chicago? Bedard, now Williams and a helluva receiver too?....... Seems like yesterday as kids we could go play football on Sundays cuz bears home games were blacked out.

It's like Keith playing on one knee vs the Preds. They are shadowing the Blackhawks path. There's a good chance they don't make the playoffs next season |

If Vlasic's play levels off at what he did this year, this contract is perfectly in line with his play and probably a slight benefit to the Hawks in the long run as the cap increases. If he improves at all (especially on the offensive side) it is a massive score. If he improves to be the 40 point 2-way stud you mention, his post-bridge deal contract will be double what this deal is, so you bought cost certainty at a point where you will have to pay Bedard, KK and Nazar at least assuming they pan out.

This is one of the very few contracts that IMO is a true home town discount. It seems obvious the Wilmette kid wants to play in his hometown, and was willing to take a little less AAV and trade it for the term, especially with the M-NTC kicking in the last 2 years of the deal.
For KD it is a good deal, because no matter what the board thinks of Jones, you have a Vlasic/Jones pairing as either your #1 or #2 (top 4 in any case) D pairing over the next 6 years, at cost certain. This is a better or as good a pairing as most of the playoff teams are skating. Look at the Leafs (actually don't look at them
). How many minutes a game would Vlasic/Jones be playing for them? |

You're right he should of only signed him to a 2 year deal so then he can deal with 4 RFA contracts expiring at the same time

That's the beauty of this contract, it's front loaded so he gets his money sooner than at the end of a bridge deal. This is a big win for both sides, and the next contract might be friendlier because of that.
I do agree about Jones and Vlasic pairing, i bet many of the playoffs teams today would love to have that pair on the ice at the end of a game.

Thought of that as well and this was the one big RFA deal KFC needed to do this Summer. Unfortunately for Reichel, had he played better this season, could've signed for similar or more. Will be interesting to see what Davidson can sign him for. |
