That’s my point. I love that sort of thing. If you have even a slim need of a specific type of performance art isn’t your thing, impaired playing is a beautiful thing for those who can take it.

I've seen many shows Wedgie. I remember seeing the Stones and Keith Richards was so stoned, he needed to sit down while playing. It wasn't great. I saw Miles Davis years ago, he was certainly hammered on something but it was still a great event for me. I just booked a trip to Vegas in June. We booked two shows, the Beatles Love and Dead and Company at the Sphere. I can't wait. Expecting the show at the Sphere to be awesome! Who the (frank) needs to spend thousands to see a second rate show like Taylor Swift!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude. You're gonna see John Mayer shred with Bob Weir! That is gonna be awesome. I've just lately gotten into John Mayer, specifically the 'Continuum' LP. Its terrific. I had discounted this guy as just a dude who bangs pop stars without listening to his work. Very impressed with his tasteful take on soul guitar on that LP.

Also fyi my apologies because I’m certain I’m not explaining my thoughts well. I am a bassist and not a vocalist for a reason lol
A band who aims to perform their music at a certain level is part of my definition of “cover band”. The ones who don’t care about what the crowd thinks are “artists”.
And yes I even include impairment under the “artist” definition. I’ve been both myself… got some stuff on Apple Music that was approached in studio far differently than on stage from one band and another album I recorded bass for a friend on where my approach was a “cover” since I always aimed to play it the way I did in the studio. And yea, sometimes I’d approach the stage deliberately drunk and sometimes stone cold sober under “artist”.

I respect this response! Fans don’t have a say. I still want the Bruins. Ha ha. When I got into hockey in the mid to late 80’s I loved their team. What can I say.
A guy that I played street hockey with, had a bar that Brett Hull used to do lines at the bar all the time. Right down the street from our old barn. That guy that owned the bar, sucked at hockey. He was 10 years older than me and I could school him from time to time ha ha

lol I know it sounds crazy but your last line is bang on when it comes to what I’m trying to say.
I’ve played like that at times and yes… there are folks out there who actually hope for it
A nice difference between indie band and a petty/dylan show is the price I can certainly say that. However when I see it occurring I’m the type who listens openly and doesn’t necessarily consider it poor playing, I see it as more of a positively lawless thing.
As I said I’m poor as hell when it comes to describing why.. but not having any expectation of talent is a very big part of it…. Yes the music is messy as hell but no I don’t find it negative because it is appealing to me still… does that make sense?
