someone will have to be moved to keep this lottery core together
probably 2 guys paid samuelsson money or more
tuch may get the best return
then again tuch may be nearly untouchable in 6 months if he is the captain and the team is thriving in the fall
side note I think tuch should be the captain, not dahlin |

Lindy isn't known for picking strong captains, and sometimes doesn't even pick a captain at all. Wouldn't be a shock if he surprised us all.

They loved Stafford back in the day because he would do whatever they asked and would never disagree.
Matches the point you're making. |

Well I mean he chose Jamie Benn to be captain in 2013 after Brendan Morrow left. He also chose Nico Hischier when Andy Greene left in 2020. So I don't know what this narrative is supposed to mean.
He chose Drury and Briere ffs. Even Rivet was a good captain.
If you're talking about the no man's land between Drury and Rivet where Darcy left all his kids on a (frank)ing island with no dad, then yeah ok.

I’m happy Adams and company learnt from their mistake passing on Stankoven and didn’t make the same mistake with Savoie or Benson.

It's not an issue, just a Lindy tendency to opt for the softer spoken guy (or rotate). Pomminville over Vanek gets all the attention, but it's not the only time. Just a way Lindy has asserted himself in the past.

Lindy said he is a better coach now then he was at the end of his first stint as a sabres coach
so there may be that |

Who knows? Dahlin's a soft spoken guy and an easy option. Just saying a curve ball wouldn't be a shock from Lindy.

Better off spreading that money around to revamp bottom-six and add a good 3C.

I think when you are loaded with entry contract prospects, sprinkle in a few big plays instead of limping with 4 or 5 cheap guys to round out the roster
get me 1 impact guy up front and 1 impact guy to play with power
move whoever is needed to make this happen from the bottom half of the roster
either get a top line top 6 guy like stamkos or the perfect 2 way 3rd line center that can easily play line 2 if an injury to tage or cozens
Sean Couturier on a 3 year deal instead of a 6 year deal would be the type I would look for
Cirelli?
Backlund?
If trading for a traditional 3rd line center, Lars Eller |
