Perhaps Austin Mathew ate Kraft Dinner. Or just watched that commercial might be enough to do it |

I’m tired of the over analyzing on both ends.
He simply needs to be better.
He had a fantastic game 4 facing elimination last year then went invisible again.
He is so capable of being amazing but he fails far too much.
He just has to play better, that’s it. - Santo_44
I'm just stating facts in support of moving Marner, which I've wanted to do for years.
This season's cooked anyways, nothing to do but look forward to UFA where all of our hopes and dreams can come true, on paper. |

I've resisted this though for such a long time now.
It may be time to move on unless he signs a team friendly deal. this will not happen |

Well Matthews carried the Leafs to their only win so far, and then he got sick with something that looks quite problematic.
Nylander has concussions/headaches.
Tavares is just slowing down, fast (lol).
Marner is the only one without an excuse, I guess that's why he's getting most of the bashing. - Scabeh
Outside of the one game, Matthews hasnt been great. Also, 2 goals n 10 playoffs games is pathetic |

People think he’s hooked playing in Toronto which is adorable.
When asked what is he supposed to say? That whoever pays him the best matters more than the jersey?
Any fan of any team can’t seem to grasp this even tho no player whines about playing for their team….unless you want to go back to Lindros in Quebec that is lol.

It's the soft play of Marner that I think irks most when he isn't producing. You see Matthews, Morgan and even Willy taking the body or taking a hit to make a play but you are right in that all of them have underperformed horribly so far minus Matthews in the one game they won.
Marner's soft play this playoff has hit a new level - where is the Marner who could fight through a check or block a shot? Him not doing these things can't be due to any lingering ankle issues IMO and it's really problematic.
Not sure what the mystery illness(s) are with Matthews and Willy but I'll give Willy a bit of a pass on not looking like himself last game due to missing 3 games but he still was far more physically engaged in the game than Marner.
Side note - that stat saying Marner has only one give away is a homer stat big time - I watched him give it away twice on one play last game. lol
Still cheering & praying but not feeling super confident that l the Leafs they can string 3 solid games in a row together AND that even if they do that they can beat Boston 3 times with Swayman between the pipes.
At this point just go balls out and leave it all out on the ice is all I ask for. Yes if they lose the series they will still get ripped by the media and places like here for the terrible game 4 effort but end of the day they were the underdog going in and are now the ultimate underdog.
If they lose at least we will see some substantial change right or will they just run it back next season knowing they are screwed cap wise even more than this year? - Cush29
I agree, marner has been soft and often looks like he doesnt know what the (frank) he is doing. Maybe hes not 100%?
The whole team is outmatched again.
Fire the whole coaching staff.

We do have to remember that these guys get the best treatment for recovery.
I mean Sergechev broke his leg and just competed in an NHL playoff game, it’s wild.
I really don’t see any excuse for Marner here. - Santo_44
Jesus christ, best treatment or not, marners bread and butter are his feet, hands and vision.
If his ankles arent 100%, that impacts his game.
Just not sure why its impacted his thought process or willingness to take a hit |

Team doctors forced him out of a game ffs and has been sick since game 3. It’s more than the flu and I respect him for trying to push through and being forced out by the team, not himself.

One game and go from there.
Bruins of the last decade are chokers too, so maybe they can do it for us.
Please. |

Dont be foolish, this is his worst playoffs. In the first round last year he was dominant and he was the only reason we won a game against Florida.
How quickly some forget |

He also had his worst the next round.
He’s had a lot of bad playoffs.
And he’s one of the few that seem to really get effected by fans and the media.
If I had a nickel every time he said “we don’t care what you guys say” I’d be rich. |

Yep, then come out absolutely flat in game 7 and get shutout.
The only thing I know about this team is they always find new ways to cause the fans pain. |
