And that doesn't seem to be a problem for the Panthers. Worked out for them better than most others.
Cup final appearance as a wild card team followed by winning the division and looking like another deep playoff run.
If that's the alternative to losing in the 1st round 9 out of 10 times and never going past the 2nd round, you take it every single time. - Rare_Jewel
Bob might drag you to the cup. To me the issue is the amount of money spent on Marner/Tavares in both money and draft capital in order to stay compliant. Add in the picks thrown away at the deadlines an you probably have a really competitive bottom part or the roster by simply drafting for years. |

Or Woll steals a game and it's 2-2. - Rare_Jewel
He made 14 saves Saturday night. Three goals on 14 shots. I don’t know how anyone can say that he hasn’t sucked. It seems like he’s either out of position or day dreaming. |

Knies, PLD, Jarnkrok
Holmberg, Kampf, Reaves
Rielly, Pulock
McCabe, M. Roy
Beniot, Zadorov
Elvis
Woll
As many picks/prospects back as possible to trade the pussies and their Cap hits out.
(Since we don't have playoffs to look forward to, new players will have to do)
- underhill14
Yep he overpaid Willie to make him easier to move.
Having PLD on your list as 3rd line center for 8.5 million per hmmm NO
Merz or Korpisalo as our #1 at 6 million LOL

The Leafs had a plan. It was a good plan. They kicked off the plan with the greatest rookie class in NHL history.
Then, they abandoned the plan and immediately (Tavares) started the EXACT SAME stupidity that led to 50+ years of futility in the first place. Over-paying, tradng draft picks, chasing aging players well past their prime, ignoring the goaltending and defense, not hiring a proven, successful coach...
They turned a good plan, and a very fortunate draft bounty, into 1 series win. It is the worst mismanagement I think we have ever seen in pro sports.

I dunno Match, I am not a Matthews apologist by any means, but I remember a friend getting food poisoning and being ill for like a month. - Aetherial
Apparently it was the team doctors who pulled him from the game. |

I said it the day Tavares was signed. Obviously the stagnant cap situation really hurt the Leafs, but it affected all teams.
The big problem is that if falsely accelerated the rebuild, resulting in chasing players and paying Matthews and Marner more than they had to on their 2nd deal. |

I don't know how many times I said that over the last six years and gotten absolutely flamed for it. People wanted me banned for being too "negative". Funny how the worm has turned with Leafs Nation. |

In practise today they were acting like Domi is our number one centre for tomorrow’s game. I think I can hear the fat lady tuning up. |

I don't agree.
The PP has personnel problems. It's not all coaching. They have core players unwilling/unable to fight for that middle ice. This won't just go away with a new coach. They need to change the core. - fifty__missions
I don’t know. I would love to see what this team would do with just attacking the blue line instead dropping it back to the trailer that wastes 20 seconds every single time.
They also had stupid setups on the pp faceoff. Coaching is a huge part of it and this core needs a shake up. Or start carrying their weight. I’m good with either at this point. Come back and win this damn series or blow it up. It can’t be the same thing again next year. |

They’ve begun to build my meds back up, they got the seizures they need, and now I had a short portion done of it today but I’m getting one of about 2-3 hours tomorrow where they literally connect my head to a computer and read everything it does.
I didn’t even know this lobe existed (I’m no neurologist lol) but it’s one that lies in between either side called the diencephalon, it’s in between the temporal lobes.
The 5 neurologists studying me told me after tomorrow there’s a very good chance they’ll remove all the electrodes Wednesday, make me stay 24 more hours, and then release me the next day. It obviously depends on what they discover tomorrow.
Either way I learned something new and cool today… and the neurologists feel excited. Not the most normal of things and it seems to explain a lot. Various strengths vs various weaknesses kind of thing. They’re thinking that once they get to study the info for a few months they might be able to rid me of epilepsy and if that happens I will be so massively thankful. |

Still don't know how he allowed the soft first goal in game 3. Should have at least smashed his stick on the crossbar a half dozen times |
