That would be an amazing stroke of fortune if Michkov can come over and play in 24-25.
Iām not thrilled with Torts at all and how heās coached but I canāt see the front office tolerating MM being on a short leash, especially if the agreement is a loan back to Russia. If heās coming the Flyers will make so much money off this kids jersey and he will be on the cover if the yearbook and no longer will we have listen to them sell the coach but theyāll have a face if the franchise. The funny thing is I think this kid is self-confident enough from everything Iāve read that heās gonna put the pressure on himself to be the savior of the franchise.
Should he come over, the Flyers would be well-served to make some major moves. They NEED a center, even a veteran to play with him. I donāt know how they do that but Chicago was smart in signing Foligno for Bedard. To do that, I think TK canāt be resigned, Atkinson or Johansen may have to bought out, and Sanheim should be asked to waive is NMC. |

He can always pretend he doesn't understand English and nod a lot when Torts is yelling at him. (Not sure if he speaks any at all but Im sure he is learning)

Maybe if the Laffs fall and they clean house, the Flyers could acquire Tavares with salary retained for a song since aināt no one paying JT $11,000,000 for the last year of his contract. That would give Toronto cap flexibility, the Flyers a good veteran (and could possibly resign him for a year or two if he and MM hit it off). Just a thought.
Not a horrible thought of:
Foerester/Tavares/MM
Farabee/Frost/Tippett
As the top two lines. If TK not moved that would be a solid top 2. |

It's absolutely the perfect lineup for the Flyers to remain a bubble playoff team. Not get a high draft pick and get nowhere near being a contender for the Stanley Cup.

I personally would lean towards not bringing Michkov over for next season. The odds of Michkov and Tortorella clashing are very high with Michkov being yo-yoed in and out of the lineup with fluctuating ice time. - MJL
Agreed! Torts is the American version of Rotenberg! Since they can't send him to the AHL, what's over under on how many times MM is scratched next season provided he comes over?

rather wait on MM in terms of contract and what not. Be nice to have him come over when/if the team is much better on an ELC. |

I actually can't believe folks on here wouldn't want MM to come over as soon as possible! Are you all aliens on here (And I thought that I was an alien)? There's gonna be an adjustment period, so I say get his arse over here as soon as possible. Yes, there is a risk of some clashes between Torts and MM, but life is full of risks. Thanks! |

Nah. let him develop and mature over there. Then when he comes over, he is a ore advanced player and the Flyers get the full benefit of a potential star players on an ELC. I get the idea of the entertainment factor. The only caveat is the situation with the treatment of the coach over there. Maybe the only coach who could provide a worse situation for his development that with Tortorella here.

Dude, i understand your frustration with Torts. While I get and agree with alot of what you say, there is still nuance to him just like ever human.
Iād the Flyers bring over this guy, there are special circumstances. You know this. Briere and Jones will let Torts know this. If things move towards the Frost spectrum (I think itās stubborn for you to honestly believe that) no one who knows about hockey in Philadelphia will stand for it, including the top brass.
Torts will be fired if poop that like goes down. Think about it. |
