the ask yes, the actual amount? we shall see
- hello it's me 2050

Everything they do is purposeful. Chaff and countermeasures. Keeping him off the under 25 roster is not directed at Michkov. It’s directed at the Flyers. Give the illusion that he’s available now. Oh he is if you want to get silly.

Why on earth would the Flyers want him? He's 33 and slowing down by the day.

because the flyers love name players is one reason.

I agree that the team needs to be picking top 5 next year not having MM work with Torts. However, if he is able to come over, you have to do it. The first opportunity to get the kid out of Russia, you say ‘yes.’

Absolutely. I’d be very excited to see him come over and it sounds like there’s a possibility now.

Dude, i understand your frustration with Torts. While I get and agree with alot of what you say, there is still nuance to him just like ever human.

I’d the Flyers bring over this guy, there are special circumstances. You know this. Briere and Jones will let Torts know this. If things move towards the Frost spectrum (I think it’s stubborn for you to honestly believe that) no one who knows about hockey in Philadelphia will stand for it, including the top brass.

Torts will be fired if poop that like goes down. Think about it.

- Wingdestroyer

Tortorella runs the show with the Flyers and he has Jones in his back pocket. The Flyers top brass have already shown that they would stand for it. In the spirit of building culture and a standard. I have no trust in Tortorella to allow a player like Michkov to play his way through the growing pains that are inevitable with a young highly skilled 20 year old player. There is nobody on the current coaching staff capable of coaching a player like that from an offensive and skill perspective.

100%. I’d love to have him here. Kripes. He could probably still play on the 4th line.

The downside is that many would complain that it’s another example of hiring a former flyer.

As long as that former Flyer coach is one of the best coaches in the league, I would have no issue with that factor. My question is why would Brind'Amour want to coach here. Everything they do in Carolina is the antithesis of how they operate here.

Giving money to a hockey federation/team/oligarch (to buyout sports contracts) closely tied to Putin who is actively fighting a war with an Ally which is being partially funded by US tax payers. Is it legal? Is it ethical?

Agree. As for the former Flyer thing I wouldn't worry about it. I think he is one of the top coached in the NHL personally.

Good question but '*if* there is path to MM coming over now I would go all-in. With the geopolitical landscape today I would want him over here rather than later. If they allow him to walk I would take him in a heartbeat. No guarantee he will come over in a few years if the geopolitics get worse.

What has he done with all the great talent he has had?
Exited after:
Conference finals twice
Second round twice
Frist round twice

What would he do here with the Flyers talent, Brind is the type of coach you want when all the pieces are in place.

You just laid out a good resume. WTF has Torts done in the last decade?

If MM comes over for next season who long does it take for Torts to bench him?

There's a big difference in former Flyer Brind'Amour who has a proven record of success coaching and former Flyer like Jones with no business being a POHO.

I see no one liked my Tavares idea. The point was that doesn’t it make sense to have a respected veteran with some talent to put on a line with MM if he indeed comes over as a 19 year old? Doesn’t have to necessarily be JT but figured with only 1 year left on his contract next year and assuming Toronto would jump at the thought of freeing up half. Just want the kid to have a good transition because I thought that Chicago did the right thing with some veterans and Bedard.

and he was an AC for 7 years before taking over as the HC. Tell me how good they were those years? He took a team of young players and made them into a perennial contender.

Compared to Torts there is no argument. He is a way better coach than Torts in the modern NHL.
