There’s no way the Leafs move Knies even to unload Tavares’ contract however Easton Cowen would be a nice piece. But I agree Tavares wouldn’t be a bad guy to have for a season. But as you say it’s unlikely he waives his NMC for Chicago.

Jackson Cates is a center/LW with at least two seasons AHL experience previous to this campaign. He is a playmaker who also can score based on what I have heard and seen this season

In a Google check I saw that he is called a face off specialist- 65% this season- next closest was M Hard man at 55%.

Cates is not too tall. He won a college championship with Minnesota Duluth ( ?) As a freshman I think that was 2019. He had one year each with Flyers and Islanders AHL . Cates matched well with Reichel although they were not exclusively linemattes.

Weird overtime goal. Lindholm is on his side of center ice when he dumps it and Rielly is closer to the goal line when the puck crosses, race over. Goalie is in his crease. It all happens fast but I think linesmen missed icing. Not sure if anyone is questioning this in Toronto.

Lindholm may or may not have got to center ice but the continuation of the rule is, which team is closer to, or gets to the puck first on an icing and that was Pasternak. Good goal, not even leaf’s fans can dispute it.

Kids are kids but that type of hit was just ridiculous at that time in the game. Especially in international hockey where they call penalties for anything.

I have changed what I want as an outcome on Tuesday to “long shots run wild,” as I now want both 15 slot Red Wings and 16 slot Blues to win the lottery, take their new slot at 5 & 6 and the hawks pick second with no drop or lottery draft win counting against them…
