Frost would have to have a really good year next season to command 6M a year. If he plays to that level then I'd rather have Frost and Farabee. Necas is not that good to offset that. So far he has had one high level season and he regressed this season. - MJL
You do not understand what salaries are going to be going forward with the cap going up. Midlevel guys are going to get in the 6’s. Necas as you said is better than Farabee. Unless you changed your mind that means he’s way better than Frost this perfectly justifying two million more in salary cap space. |

LOL, a player has to perform to reach that salary, not just be a mid level guy. As a poster who has been on the forefront of understanding and teaching the salary cap here as well as the NHL salary structure. It is ignorant of you to say I don't understand that. What you don't understand is that in your scenario, with Frost playing well enough to command a 6M a year AAV, in combination with Farabee, it would be my preference to keep them instead of trading them for Necas.
Again, if Necas is looking for 8M a year as you stated, I'd pass. |

I can't see Frost getting near that unless he puts up 55-60 points in this upcoming season. Even then I think he would top out at 3.5-4aav.
If he is commanding 6, then the Flyers need to walk away or make a trade.

cliff claven. How his dad never got him a job working in the NHL or an NHL team is one of great mysteries of life. |
