Yet another lie from you. You are getting cornered here...better be careful Everyone knows that you predicted that the Flyers were a shoe in to make the playoffs, so how would you be laughing? Better take a long look in the mirror cause you are acting fraudulent here.
- Phillywhiteout

Everyone knows? At the time of when we had those conversations. Which was around the time when the article on NHL.com came out, which you were fooled by, I did not expect the Flyers to make the playoffs. At around the 10 game left mark or so, after the so called gauntlet of games and the Flyers came out decently from that. I posted that I thought the Flyers would make the playoffs. I thought all they needed was to play .500 hockey from that point on. I did not expect them to completely poop the bed against Montreal, Columbus, etc. Those are the facts.

I repeatedly told you directly that Tortorella had no chance of winning the Jack Adams. You were salivating at the possibility of being able to throw that in my face. I told you that you were delusional, and I was right. I get the last laugh. Man up now and take your medicine.

After 2020, again, Pasternak has played 31 playoff games and scored 30 playoff points.

Proof is in the pudding! Just watch the last couple of games. It's not necessarily a strategic change, but they are playing a different style within their strategy. They are packing it in and blocking more shots, and when they have no play out of the zone they are simply flipping the puck out. Also, being less fancy on the offensive end. Just getting pucks and bodies to the net instead of looking for the perfect play.
- Phillywhiteout

Every team in the playoffs, tightens up and ups their intensity level. The premise is that they're playing differently because of the absence of Matthews.

So when Toronto has no play out of their zone, they're simply flipping the puck out? That's a change? They otherwise wouldn't simply flip the puck out when they had no play out if Matthews was playing?

If you actually watched the last 2 games it would be obvious.

Unfortunately, at 12, we are going to have to deal with some "not so much" for every available choice.

Classic Flyers.

Personally I’d like to see us move up above Calgary and take Tij Iginla but I’m guessing that’s not likely.

Sort of seems like a weak draft class to me personally.

I agree the defense still needs work but a team has a way higher percentage chance of getting a great defender later in the first round and into the second round than they do getting an elite scoring forward.

Plus D is boring. At this point I want to be entertained. Would rather lose 6-5 than 2-1

Montgomery called out Pastrnak last night in his post game. This is what I have been saying, the guy is soft when the games means the most. Took a stupid 4 minute penalty in the 2nd period last night, 200 feet from his own net. Pasta is a great scorer, but when the games mean the most, he is often a no-show. TK shows up every single shift of every single game. TK is the type of player I want to go to war with.

Ok, tell me genius, why did O'Brien not work out for the Flyers?
- jd250

Everyone is correct on this. His career was most definitely derailed by injuries, but let's face it, he was a reach and a bad reach at that. Nothing suggests he was first round material. It also did not help that he kept switching teams so there was most likely a mental element involved.

At #12 Eiserman would be a worthy gamble.

I agree. I think all of the top defensemen will be gone within the top 8/9 picks. Will be interesting to see where teams value Iginla and if Calgary gets too sentimental and takes him. The teams I think that will definitely take a forward are Columbus , NJ, and Buffalo. Rumors out of Montreal say they’re taking a forward and want Demidov. so that’s 4 forwards (Demidov, Catton, & Lindstrom for sure, + one other guy) after Celebrini goes 1st, unless any of them win the lottery. That leaves 6 teams between the Flyers and one of the top 5 defenseman. So 2 more forwards would need to be taken for 1 of those D to fall to the Flyers. I don’t see it happening and honestly think the Flyers need to move up to at least 8 to get one of the defenseman. If they stay at 12 and Eiserman is still there I think you have to take him on potential upside and hope dropping in the draft is a little wake-up for him and he matures a bit and starts to round out the rest of his game enough to not be one dimensional. Just hope he’s not the next Wahlstrom. The only Center consistently ranked up around 10 is Helenius but based on what I’ve read he projects as a solid 2-way #2C. Most of the guys that will be available at 12 will be middle six potential guys. Joel Farabee types. Depending on how it falls Flyers may even move back because after the top 8/9 guys you’re probably getting similar players over the next 10-15 picks. I see the top 8, in no particular order, after Celebrini, as:

Fwds:
Celebrini
Demidov
Catton
Lindstrom

D
Levshunov
Silayev
Buium
Parekh
Richardinson

Wouldn't be surprised if Tij and Greentree have jumped pretty high on some teams lists (I personally love Greentree). Teams are probably still pretty high on Helenius and Connelly too.

It's just too hard to say where guys will go after the first 2-3 picks.

There doesn't seem to be a slam-dunk stud #1D in the draft. And no slam dunk #1 C after Celebrini. No sense in worrying about position IMO, just add the most talented players available.

You obviously don't watch the games and once again, have no idea what you are talking about. It's more than stats. Pastrnak has 4 points in 6 games in this series with the Leafs and anyone that knows nothing like you would look at that and say, what's all the fuss about, Pastrnak is playing well. He's NOT! Again! When the games mean the most! Your favorite coach called him out by name the other night. The fact is, Marchand has taken over a game in this series. Nylander has taken over a game in this series. Matthews has taken over a game in this series. Pastrnak has not. In fact, Pastrnak has hurt the Bruins more than he has helped them. But hey, you keep pumping out those stats.

I don’t think he is. That team does not have a talent level where by you can fire him after the season they had….it will be tough to blow 3-1 series leads in back to back seasons but if you look how many good teams get bounced I can’t see Boston being that short sighted.

what I am wondering is will the bruins look to move on from pasta possibly. Could they look at a TK on an ext and cheaper than pasta which would allow them more cap space.

They will fire him. Last year in their end of season presser, Neely and Sweeny pretty much blamed the coach. If the Bruins blow another 3-1 series lead and now become 0-8 in close out games, Montgomery will be fired.

That is one thing fans in Boston and Philly have in common, they absolutely love players like TK. I would think Neely would love TK also. But no, I don't think the Bruins will want to move on from Pasta, unless Pasta does not want to play for them any longer.

You should learn what a coach calling out a player is. You don't know. Montgomery answered a question honestly. That is not calling out a player. You still can't grasp the concept of sample size.
