I just want answers to those two questions and a round of firings in the coaching staff and management. Queefe better be gone. Boucher and whoever hired him better be gone. If Shanahan is responsible for this, get rid of him too. Bring in some Leafs legends as an advisory board, make a concrete short-term plan, and hire a real bench boss.

An experienced coach needed for sure. I'm mildly optimistic actually. Treliving is moving the team in the right direction and I'm kind of excited about Woll, Knies, and what maybe Easton Cowan and maybe Minten might bring. I think Boston will get female dog slapped by Florida, as we would have. This result is one you can't paper over, excuse away, and just run back.

With that money you could add a Pesce type RD, re-sign one of Domi/Bertuzzi, or go after another UFA. Then there's the assets you get back in the trade, at least one starter and a 1st round pick. Addition by subtraction.

I honestly think the return for Marner would be disappointing. His caphit is high and his stock is low-ish. Cap is king and Leafs would probably need to retain to get a better return. Some of the proposed trades I hear for Marner in this forum would probably get rejected outright by most GM's.

I didn’t even realize Marner only had 3 points lol

He’s had over 2 goals only once in the playoffs and it was when the team went to round 2 with 3 goals.

Prorated to 82 games Marner would have 15 goals…absolutely pathetic era for him, I really hope it’s the last we see of him here.

Tough to predict how this plays out from here. Mitch may have had enough and want out now. Or, he may say (frank) you and play out the contract. I don't see the Leafs overpaying him. If he walks after next season, it's a lost asset, but the cap space along with JT off the books is massive.

Tough to predict how this plays out from here. Mitch may have had enough and want out. Or, he may say (frank) you and play out the contract. I don't see the Leafs overpaying him. If he walks after next season, it's a lost asset, but the cap space along with JT off the books is massive.

Tavares was at least good defensively and threw hits.

Also at this point it is obvious Marner has a weak brain and can’t handle any sort of pressure, if JT doesn’t have it it’s not because he can’t handle it.

I’m insanely frustrated with two players.

I also wish Morgan played better.

Other than that I’m pretty Damn happy with all the other players, they all played their roles well and deserve a pat on the back.

Yeah it is a weird situation…I think there may be a trade out there, it just won’t be what people think it will be. I think it’ll be for a player that’s a UFA in his same year or has 2 years left.

At this point he knows he can’t handle this market, he can’t handle the media and can’t handle the fans. Maybe he can be a big moment type player on another team but it won’t be a team like the leafs, Habs, Rangers, Flyers, ect.

Nashville, Florida, Utah, Vegas are teams that would be perfect for him I think.
