Gen X…you know it’s ok to know things or references from before your time right. It would be weird not to or you think about it.

69 in your name eh! As classy as the City you live

you mean Marner wanting to stay in TOR because of Matthews..?

perhaps I'm wrong but wouldn't there be a very strong possibility that he wants to get away from that market and play somewhere quieter with less pressure?

- Pat1993

No. He wants to stay next year with Matthews so he score points and get the best possible contract as a free agent.

There was plenty of good stuff from many players to take away from the series. Knies Bertuzzi McCabe for starters were warriors. Something lacking for years.

Some guys went to battle, filled in for the injured Willy and AM.

There’s a solid group here, just a few bad eggs.

Agreed. Samsonov, Marner, Liljegren, Rielly. What's the common denominator for these 4 guys? Wives or live in girlfriends. They're domesticated and are here for the paycheck.

Honestly I’m with you on this. I feel like if Tree asks, tells him no way we pay that much, doesn’t waste him away necessarily but he doesn’t get 34 as his centre - and he can work a deal to a destination Mitchy wants he will go.

He’s a married Tik Tok kid - maybe LA? Sharks Ducks even Canes - lots of players like him enjoy playing on those places. Not sure who Buds would want or could get but who knows.

I also get the bad look it may give to try and be forceful about it (to players league wide) but at same time be confident and build a better roster - nothing cures players feelings about your management style than a chance to win a Cup

- Big23Questions

LA might want to figure out what to do with the Dubois contract before that, unless you guys would be interested...

also I agree about the roster building, this year's edition of the leafs was probably the most complete it had been in a while, now something has to give with the "core four" if they truly want to balance things out better, status quo would sound even more insane than ever.

Keefe actually said this in his presser:

"When teams play the Leafs, they set up the game for the Leafs to beat themselves."

That's a fired quote if I ever heard one.

Fire the whole coaching staff.
Hire Joel Quenneville.
Trade for Saros or Askarov
Resign Domi and Bertuzzi
Get rid of Tavares
Make Matthews the Captain

- Mr.President

Fuk ya. Welcome to the party

And for you nancies, it was a pretty fuking great game, ballsy and badass effort for the last 3 games and some tense fun hockey and I LOVED IT!!! (except for MP's post above...mixed in with some of the dumb Matthews has the shiites, Nylander gonorrhea or Marner with his disappearrhea, twitter, Biz crap drama)

Great series.

Can still make changes to win tho.

Ya who knows - I only said LA cause like I said it’s a place players with wives and kids like to play you know. Good weather, nice homes, and the he can grow his social media presence ha

The core 4 has always been the issue. This roster was much better & only exposed the core 4 more plainly. Something will have to give.

You're not giving Boston any credit for great goaltending and above average defense. They did finish 1 point out of first in the division.
- PrinceLH

Is that like you not giving Dubas any credit?

Regular season means Jack poop.

Boston’s D isn’t great, their goaltending is unreal.

They will get stomped by the Panthers.

it's a possibility, but judging from his regular season production I doubt things would drastically fail for him on another team, he surely would be put with other talented players, even if their name isn't Matthews he'd most likely put up some points.

anyway from the outside looking in I can't help but think that playing in a quieter market has crossed the mind of more than one or two guys on that roster at some point or another, especially after basically repeating the same failures year after year.

Leafs win game 5 and 6. Then lose game 7.

Because Leafs.

Yep, some keepers for sure. For me Shanahan has to go, he’s let the losing go on for too long. Leafs need a new voice in the dressing room, Keefe gone. They also need to reallocate Marners money. Brodie also gone, Gio. For me Reilly isn’t a #1 Dman and he’s paid too much to be a #2 Dman. However he’s signed and a NTC so we r stuck with that one. Perfect scenario a sign and trade for Marner.

Leaf should have shown up for game 1 and 4, but that’s how they have rolled for years! Last minute push…..and it never works.

well, at least next years playoffs won't be ending in a more Leafy way

too bad both Sammy and Rielly decided to have a brain cramp at the worst possible time...

It seems everyday on the news theres a new crisis. Relentless finicial pressure. People appear more stressed about almost everything these days .

This loss by the Maple Leafs is comforting. Nothing unusual, it is the consistent expected normal that people feel comfortable with.

Thank you Leafs for not rocking the boat.

It also seems every morning a completely new (frank)ing moron comes in here to share how colossally idiotic they are. Same old, indeed.
