I wrote a big long heartfelt, sincere, respectful post about my thoughts on this team.

But my phone froze.

Oh well. It’s probably better I don’t anyways.

Oh ffs no.
Then the leafs would be stuck with 8.5m in dead weight?
Pass

Do any of you guys watch him play?

Just curious not being shiitty, but a couple of you are NO WAY and I don't get it. I watch the Kings. If he had JT's wingers he'd be a steal at $8.5. He's young too. He's a better version of Sam Bennett.

It's OK Underhill keeps preaching it too. Those kind of suggestions kinda makes it hard to take said person's opinion seriously. At least you retracted the trade

Yes it was me too and I WAS flying under the radar JR

Still think he's good option.

hoping we can get clutch big hat pipsqueak female dog resigned at a reasonable 13-13.5😍

then we can get rid of everyone else and go bargain bin shopping in the offseason to get some warm bodies to flesh out the roster 👍🏿

coaching defense and goaltending is clearly not the problem in the playoffs it’s scoring so i wonder if kane is available 😍

or skinner👍🏿

that would really tickle my gizzard😍

what a (frank)ing joke 🤦🏿‍♂️

edit: nice alliteration 👍

Watching Marner just give up skating with Pasta on that goal is so representative of why this group cannot find the next level. Overtime in game 7 and you're content drifting off and letting their best scorer loose?

It's got to be time to move on from him, a big change is needed and you've got to rock the nucleus. Kill the Shanaplan, punt the entire coaching staff, convince Marner and Rielly to waive, trade Liljegren and Kampf, let Sammy walk. Retool from the net out.

Bang on. I’d add, try and move JT, I know it’s a stretch, but at any rate, it’s time Matthew’s was made Captain, JT here or not.

The argument could be made that PLD’s sub-par season in LA was due to both his performance and the organization then slotting him at 3C and even 4C. If TOR is looking to move on from Marner - then it should reasonably be a “troubled asset for troubled asset” swap.

PLD has been a problem in two organizations prior to LAK - so caveat emptor, but… a swap of PLD for Marner into a new environment at TOR could be intriguing.

NHL Starter
2 RD - Top Pair guy (doesn't need to be a number but a Top Pair) & Second Pair
2C
3RW
4LW/RW

I really hope both Bert and Domi sign for the Leafs...not sure Bert appreciates the attention here though.

McMann & Knies will be improved even more next season. I feel McMann can slot in as 2LW and Knies is an unreal solid 3LW

I saw some scuttle about Saros (maybe a tick too old but maybe perfect fit right now...not sure contract length) and Carrier - Thats the Starter & Second Pair Righty

EDIT: JT next year is super overpaid but also if Marner can get bounced (hopefully) and some others walking - Leafs can cope to get through a year more as an overpaid 3C cause I still feel he will take huge discount next contract and slot amazingly as 3C at the right price and great production.

I have a feeling that AM would not have played game 7 if Woll was good to go. But with Sammy in net the team had to insulate him a bit.

Watching the Toronto-Ottawa PWHL game.

Intermission interview is with the Toronto equipment manager.

They didn’t really get into what her actual job was, but JFC it was 100 times more interesting than the boilerplate poop the NHL coverage gives us.

I'd consider taking on his contract if it meant getting Brandt Clarke as well. No way you take that anchor on 1 for 1

Had you guys kept Babcock, the Leafs would probably have one or two cups by now. Keefe is like the substitute teacher that let's the kids slack off until the real teacher comes back. I'd fire him immediately.
I agree with many that Matthews and Nylander can be built around but Marner is very weak when it matters, and although Tavares is a consumate gentleman and a very good player, he's just not a leader.
There's a lot to be positive for the Leafs though, the team fought hard.

We want to be rid of overpaid troubled players not take on an 3 extra 5-6 years of one. Better off losing Marner to FA

If Marner doesn't deside to just let Pasta go, it likely doesn't matter that the other two are dozing away.

I get that everyone is piling on Marner now. But you don't ever (frank)ing doze away, especially in overtime. 3 players napping on that play all share the responsibility.

I don't think anyone on here needs to read that if Marner played with 1985 Gretzky he'd get 150 points.
