Yes you are not trolling, you make regular important contributions on this blog and don't only show up after a loss. - winsix
fair enough
obviously I'm not here regularly, I do enjoy the banter between fanbases but I can also have regular hockey conversations even with people who are fans of teams I don't like very much...
but sure, you can consider I'm just trolling if you want to, I get it.
If I ignore the obvious, it was a great series by the real players on the team. MVP - Knies.
Only good part in the loss is that the Core 4 finally proved they suck. Special shout out to Marner, Rielly and JT.
Every one that you can list that played well/awesome/stepped up is not being paid over $10M.
Domi - set the tone early, f/o % and held the #1 spot for Matthews
Bert - was messy and sloppy like Pig Pen from Charlie Brown but he did exactly what needed to be done.
Woll - until he caught Leafy=itis, was awesome.
Matthew Fuking Knies - great series for him.
Benoit/McCabe - dominated. Best D all series.
Kampf - heart and soul, worked his ass off.
Gregor/Dewar/Reaves - did exactly what needed to be done...could've used a goal but otherwise did their jobs well.
Holmberg - fuking owned Marchand.
Edmundson - "sit the fuk down Pasta", and blocked shots, big D that did well.
TheBush - not noticeable in a good way.
Nylander was the only one of the Core to step up...for one game at least.
Rielly/JT/Marner - jeezus, I'd be embarrassed if I were them. Absolute garbage. Wouldn't mind never seeing any of them again.
Matthews - I have no clue what happened to him.
Samson-fukright-ov - can go. He can carry Keefe and the coaching staff's bags on the way out.
Guess it's time to see what Tre can do. - underhill14
Agree with most of this
I like JT though and yeah I’m disappointed in Morgan but as much as Boosh played well they need to finally get him a legit partner. Help him out ffs.
Reaves did his job? I saw numerous giveaways and a guy that is too slow to throw a hit and stay in the play.
Tell Tavares his choice is to spend the year in the press box or accept a trade to Chicago or Columbus or something like that. Likely need to attach a pick to make him go away.
Then do the same with Marner. Now you have the cap space to bring in options like Pesce, Montour, Roy and a couple of skilled forwards.

Marner has a NMC, he has to agree to a trade. Unlikely he would agree to a trade, sitting him would only hurt the team and his value if they could move him at the trade deadline next season. Pesce and Montour would be great adds, however, they are most likely to re-sign with their current teams IMO. Tavares is not going anywhere, Leafs will have to settle for his point a game production next season.

I could see him accepting to Utah. A laid back city and ownership you can count on trying to win.

Dude it was his 4th time in 5 playoff runs being below a .899 SV%.
He was bad and let in 2 terrible goals. He let in way too many soft goals.
And (frank) off, people can criticize a player without putting the entire blame on a guy.
He was bad, he couldn’t make a save when it mattered all series. It’s really that simple and not hard to understand. - Santo_44
I'm going to fade into obscurity until at least the draft...
... but I'm still (frank)ing angry (and hungover).
Sammy cost us that game and the series.
You cannot be in an airtight, defense-first series, a series that has had low scoring throughout, and cough up a weak short-side goal like that.
I've said it a million times on here: Sammy is fundamentally flawed in his setup and execution, relying on his athletic ability (which is very good) to make all of his saves.
Every save has excess movement, which is chance for leakage and rebounds, and because of his poor fundamentals, he cost us that game.

We're stuck with Marner until the deadline, possibly a move before the draft, but 90% chance he just walks and we get nothing. Or they resign him, because Leafs.

Cover song of the week. I have been lucky enough to see Jeff Lynne and ELO 12 times over the years. This song has been his final encore number at every show, so he's had some practice. Going to see ELO in September

As for Pesce the Canes can’t afford him.
Panthers will have to choose between Max and him. - Santo_44
Marner is taking a lot of heat (he deserves it). Maybe he approves a trade. That would go a long way to get some pieces. Im not rubbing it in, but the leafs could really use a Hyman type of player. Maybe you can add Kane, I read somewhere that he’s not going back to Detroit. If the Leafs can add a couple players like these and shore up their back end a bit, that could be the difference maker.

Yeah Kane seems like a USA guy….idk I could be wrong but seems to be the consensus among hockey people.
