1 goal in 22 playoff games. Feels like a leaf already

Ok sure.
But the drop is on par with our best goal scorer.

I don't care.

I watch, and what I see from those 2 are completely different.

I am kind of over the first 3-4 playoff runs, they were children.

8 years later and Matthews can handle the moment, even when sick and injured.

Marner can't deal with the moment for poop.

I don't care about hockey DB anymore.

This doesn’t necessarily have to be personal with respect to Marner. Let’s just agree, he’s a great player, but you have to also agree that the recipe of the core does not work. These guys all want max cash and it leaves us too thin to fill to roster as needed. Somebody has to go. The logistics say it’s Marner. No way it’s Matthew’s and Willie puts out in the playoffs, and is signed for 8 more seasons. Marner isn’t earning his money and will want to squeeze absolutely every last penny he can get, out of his favourite team. Let him take his God act somewhere else.
- Bullot

1000%, and we'll miss his sick passes and amazing dangles. But for his salary we could sign two, solid D men that'll PREVENT goals so we won't need as much offense. The makeup of this team is out of balance, all offense doesn't work as well in the playoffs. Defense wins championships.

You must be related to him. Nothing else explains your blind devotion.
- Nasty_Duck

I think it stemmed from his dislike of willie.

To be fair to Konency he was like 22 in those games, I think he has grown quite a bit as a player.

At $11mil and wanting a raise, you need to be a game changer. Let’s put it this way! Let’s put Marner on the Bruins and Pasta on the Leafs! Leafs take that series in 5 or 6 at the most! And you know the God is going to want more than Pasta money!!

Keefe was good during his presser. You can see why upper management likes him.
- Woderwick

He's a pretty well spoken guy and I agree.

I wish they had asked him WHY he thought the special teams struggled. They asked generally but nobody asked him for a detailed opinion of what went wrong.

11 pts of his 50 total for Marner were in the tampa series
7 pts of his 43 total for willie.
Both have scored similar amount of pts each playoffs, so im not sure your point stands.
Willie has scored more goals for sure.

I honestly don't know the breakdown, but how many of Mitch's points are primary assists? I put a lot more weight on goals as you could touch the puck well before a goal and still get an assist.

Pasta was useless most of the series outside of one game, even his coach called him out
But i totally agree with the first sentence, that 11m could be used differently. On the backend

I dont care about primary or secondary. A point is a point. Usually it has to be part of the same play, so its really not that long before the goal.
Anywho, we'll see if mitch waives.
Everything is moot until then.

Stop being hurt that I disagree with you.

I am not going to not want Konency because he didnt have a good playoffs when he was 22 years old.

Don't be butt hurt, move on.

If you care then good for you.

How'd this become 88 v 16 again?

I think we're overthinking this. If MM wants to stay then Tree has some leverage (after a bad playoffs). If Tree sees a future with MM (I think he probably does) then he can test that loyalty and desire to stay with an offer he (Tree) likes. If MM demands too much, then it is what it is, he's written his own ticket out of town.

I have a hard time believing Marner won't try to suck every penny out of the Leafs again.

Leafs did a great job of shutting him down, but like I say, trade Marner for Pasta and Leafs are a different team. More times than not Pasta is a difference maker.

Trade Matthews or willie (not as much willie) for pasta and they are a different team.
So what.
We know Pasta is clutch and plays a different style.
Trade morgan for Pietrangelo and we are a different team. The list can go on.

Anywho, if marner agrees to waive, he'll be traded. If he doesnt, he wont.

Leafs can’t be signing this guy to over $12mil AND giving him a no trade!! That’s ludicrous. Here’s a pile of money AND no pressure to win cause we can’t trade you! ENOUGH of these crazy deals and no results.

The closest he came was saying execution and urgency. Said he thought they were better towards the end but just couldn’t get the puck across the line.
