Would Dumba be an upgrade over Boosh? Probably? - gravyface
Apples and oranges.
I’d re sign Eddy, bye to Boosh unless he takes 1.5M. |

I'd resign Eddie to be a 7D behind Benoit.
If we actually wanted to rebuild our D to be contender-ish, it would be:
Rielly 1RHD
McCabe 3/4RHD
Benoit Lillybust
Eddie/etc.
Some really decent options in here, better than I thought...
Pesche anyone?

If they trade Marner and don't replace his regular season production they might miss the playoffs.
Keefe will get fired and that will be it I think |

No. Lilly showed time and again that he can’t handle the size of the Bruin forwards. That’s not going to change. Any team with big forwards is going to throw him around.
Hughes on Vancouver is small but has found ways to still thrive, not the case with Lilly. |

No way Marner or anyone in their right mind waives a NMC/NTC to go to the (frank)ing Utah Super Soakers. Utah is a flyover state in the middle of (frank)ing nowheresville.
Although, on the upside, Marner could join a polygamist cult and get himself eighteen succubi instead of just one.

You know Marner is going to want a raise. You know he’s going to hold the Leafs feet to the fire and he’s going to want more than Willie! HOW do you pay Marner more than Willie?? No way no how. For what Marner wants you can get two $6mil heavy forwards that just might be playoff performers. Look at Sam Bennett who signed for 4yrs at less than $18mil. We could have two of him and money left over! Don’t tell me two of him won’t have more impact in the playoffs than Marner! |

Keith Pelley has had some soft assignments in his career. Obviously successful, but let’s see if he has backbone to be aggressive. Lots of teams rebuild on the fly, Rangers, Canucks, Vegas, Florida! Not the Leafs! Time to be aggressive and stop rerunning the same excuses. Leafs mailed it in for game #1 and game #4. You can’t mail it in for a shift in the playoffs. |

You are missing the detail about sitting you. Either accept a trade, or this is going to be a very embarrassing and ugly finish to your time in Toronto. You will be a healthy scratch. We don't care anymore. I mean if JT wants to earn another contract, he is better off playing 82 games on Chicago's top line versus being a healthy scratch in Toronto. The organization has to be committed to that plan. That's the only way to move those two losers. - HockeyBuzzed
What would make a trade for Tavares attractive to Chicago? |

As an old fart who loves the outdoors, I would probably love it there.
As a young multi-millionaire elite athlete with an instagram audience, not so much.
Not to mention, no way his succubus is going to agree to a move to Utah. The Mormons will slap magic panties on her and excommunicate both of them for witchcraft and unholy sexual congress. |

The only reason for Marner to accept a trade is if there’s a place where he wants to sign an 8 year deal. Utah just too much of an unknown to sign max term deal. If he doesn’t have a max term destination in mind he’ll want to hit free agency with as good a season as possible. Thst probably means staying where he is. |

As a fan who has watched Marner for almost a decade he will straight up not have a good time on any team that has excessive media and large markets.
I think Utah is perfect for him.
I also think now that the franchise can spend I think they take off, they will have a good team the next decade. |

The only way signing Edmundson is a good idea is in a very short, very cheap contract.
The man's body is broken (chronic back problems), he was great in the playoffs for Toronto since he's a gamer but you kinda flip a coin if he's gonna feel good enough to play at this point.

LTIR him and have him in for playoffs.
Might as well take advantage of it because it’s never leaving the CBA. |

Right. They can threaten to sit their $11M, top P/GP forward. |

Tavares is probably a better player to trade away but he has an NMC.

Cheap properties, skiing etc. Could do worse. Team could be great pretty fast with their draft and cap capital. |

If they want to move on from him, they will work out a scenerio that works for both sides.
They gave him a solid run here.

The same problems have existed for 7 or 8 years now. There are issues everywhere that never get addressed.
The number one issue, is the PP. So much changes with even a decent PP. Their playoff narrative looks completely different. |
