It’s fine until it isn’t. You need secondary scoring in the playoffs, 1 point through 5 games from 3 players isn’t going to cut it. - nyrangers9479
You are trying to manufacture problems.
We have scored 19 and allowed 10 through 5 games. 10 different players have scored. WTF would make you happy? I just don't get it. |

This exactly what wrong with these charts. The Rangers carried play in the first two periods. Carolina had like 15 shots until the scramble in the last 3 1/2 minutes when they had the goalie pulled. - tbreinold
I was wondering what the chart was going to look like.
I think that this skews towards Carolina due to the disparity in PP chances. What I am skeptical about regarding that figure is I am starting to think it simply looks at chances on a surface level and doesn't have a way to factor in the quality of the units of each team.
Obviously the Rangers put on a special teams clinic. But aside from the third that game was firmly in their grasp. |

Whine about? Saying we need our 3rd line AT SOME POINT to add scoring is whining or speaking facts? Never said they played bad, just said at some point they’re going to have to add secondary scoring. |

The 3rd period really weighs heavily in the NST. That's just raw numbers. If you (rhetorical, I know you don't rally care) disagree, then you didn't watch the Rangers turtle trying to hold on. But a win is a win in the playoffs, and that's all that matters. |

This was the type of game if they lost they’d be in big big trouble because they had it in the bag all game. Would’ve been like the isles loss in game 2
Last time they started 5-0 they won the cup. Good juju still going strong

What an awesome game. Great start to the series. Mika has been incredible through 5 games.
Reffing was terrible again on both sides but glad our PP and PK were up to the task |

That's a win. - blacksheep1
I still don't fully understand the charts but the top one looks pretty good to me, is it not? Obviously not for Fox and Lindgren but a lot more people in the "positive" side of the chart than typical games.
The deserve to win one likely comes from Carolina having 5 PPs to our 2, and our 2 PPs only lasting a combined 23 seconds or so. Not a lot of time to generate chances when you're that efficient. Playing with the lead also tends to draw some desperation from the opponent which we clearly saw in the 3rd. Not a perfect game by any means but I thought the rangers played really well vs a very good oppenent |

I agree with JRR, I think its skewed cause the Rangers went into sitting back mode to protect the lead in the 3rd, and also Carolina played way more desperate in the 3rd. Like I said, I thought the Rangers were in complete control of that game up until about 1/2 way through the 3rd. |

Once again posting a chart that says we should’ve lost, but if u watched the game would’ve thought the complete opposite. Ever since you’ve been back to being a troll ur buddy Tony has been a clown himself |

Tony's one of the most level headed people on this board. Everyone you have a mild disagreement with isn't a clown |

Teams play different based on game situations. The Rangers allowed 3 shot attempts after "turtling" and allowing the 3rd goal. One was missed to the far side that was close but not that close by Svechnikov. A shot by Svechnikov was then gloved my Shesty even though it was probably headed high and wide. That was at the one minute mark. The last attempt was a weak wrist shot that was sticked to the corner by Igor.

Yep that was my point. I thought the rangers played well and based on game situations (having the lead and lop-sided PP time) led to some things that are likely exacerbated on the charts. Doesn't make the charts useless but is important context.
They held the Canes to 15 SOG with 7 minutes left, and up until the end the Canes were in danger of not reaching their season-low of 19 SOG. |
