The Fox slash and the Rempe goalie interference I thought were soft.

I actually thought the ADA hit shouldn't have been anything after the replay. In real time I thought it was a major though

- SkjeiStadium

Yeah that ADA thing was bizarre. Calling Necas for a trip when Tony nailed the guy in the face was weird to begin with, then they say they're reviewing a major and everyone is baffled.

Necas clipped the back of Cuylle's leg. I think if Tony didn't hit him it might've actually been a trip. But like you said the whole thing was bizarre. I thought the hit itself Tony got him high but his elbow and shoulder looked tucked to me and it didn't look like his feet left the ice until after contact. I thought of it similarly to the Panarin hit on Oshie which I also thought was just a clean, big hit

Yea it’s annoying the amount of players that do it. You deserve the big hit if you are putting yourself in a bad situation on purpose lol

Same, Thought it was a major, but on the slow mo he makes contact with the shoulder first, They should have just stuck with the trip, it was the right call to start with

Now that felt like a playoff game! Was a little stressed after the tying goal to make it 1-1 and then again in the third. It’s the second round of the playoffs…can’t expect every game to be a work of art, but I was impressed at many points throughout the game.

I get the concern with the third line not scoring, but they’re playing an extremely valuable role of being a shutdown line that almost every Stanley Cup winner has. And they’re doing a good chunk of it by keeping the opposing team in their own zone with an efficient forecheck. I’d leave them together for now.

Here’s a thought (and I’m actually fine with Rempe staying in, but he’d come out in this scenario): If/when Chytil is added to the lineup, let him have a game or two on the fourth to get up to game speed. Sheltered minutes, gain conditioning, favorable matchups. Can reevaluate after a game or two.

If someone would like to prove me wrong, and it’s very possible, I don’t think I’ve said a negative thing since the playoffs started. Saying we need some secondary scoring AT SOME POINT is a “supportable” opinion. I don’t know how that can be taken negatively/wasn’t meant to be negative.

In this thread on more than one occasion you said that Vesey has not been good by first saying you have never brought it up......I guess you meant until that post

Interesting. Can't imagine a lineup change on this win streak. I didn't think Rempe looked that out of place last night

I was listening to Boomer Esiason this morning and he had a good point about Rempe

he's usually very gang busters in the 1st period, very involved, then there is a shift or two in the 2nd period, because of the long change that he gets stuck out there on an extended shift and then the 3rd period is always close and then they shorten the bottom 6 to a bottom 5

it's still worth it because of the energy he brings in the early part of the game to have him in there over Brodzinski, IMO

but if Chytil is actually ready for an NHL playoff game, thats a different story, and none of us really know the answer to that one

I agree with that. I've said before I think Chytil makes sense to come in for this series. Rempe does definitely get caught out on the ice for a long shift too often, which is something he needs to learn to be better at. I still wouldn't make a change until Game 3

Exactly. Chytil over Rempe over Brodz. Playoffs have the added element of energy and that can’t be ignored.

I don't like playing what ifs, but lets just assume for argument its Rangers/Florida ECF, do you sit Rempe? Thats a hard nosed team, I think thye would have to dress him

Conversely, Canes have Max Comtois taking shifts with Stefan Noesen. Looks like they're bringing in a bit more jam.

I wouldn't mess with team chemistry while we are winning. The energy Rempe brings can't be understated.

Rempe is a situation where it might be time to be proactive, get him out of the lineup, before it bites them in the ass. Yesterdays penalty tells me it’s time to get him out because if he’s getting called for everything like this it defeats the purpose of him in the lineup. Certainly game 3. I think it’ll be a huge mistake to play him in game 3

Is it fair to him or the team no, but it’s the hand we’re being dealt here and it’s the like league is out to get him. Very frustrating

I like the idea of easing Fil into the lineup playing 7 minutes like Rempe and jump him around lines and see where it works best.

I like Rempe. I like the energy he brings to the crowd, I like the fact he's kind of a goon, I like the fact by all accounts that he's been incredibly gracious with fans.

But even if they scratch him for Brodzinksi, the 4th line should prove their 5 on 5 numbers.

Now it'd be great if Chytil would come back, but we have no clue if that is happening.

Pretty spot on. It’s not worth the risk much longer in playing him

Mika has been here all year. He’s just extremely under appreciated by some of you. The amount of heavy lifting this man does is close to what Messier did those years. That ain’t even hyperbole.

We only won the Presidents Trophy by ONE POINT!

We're 5-0 in the playoffs but SOME of the games have been CLOSE!

So, how good has Mika REALLY been?

While I agree with this sentiment, we are talking about Chytil, the longest tenured Ranger beyond Kreider right? I think this is an opportunity to galvanize around this "veteran" getting back into the lineup.

And like TJ said, it's only a matter of time before a Rempe penalty (phantom or not) hurts this team. It almost happened against the Caps but the Rangers were about to rise above it.
