I was wondering what you could be writing about with the Flames done for the season.

After 18 days between blogs I see it's not much.

Stromgren has looked great but he's still another winger with middle-six potential. The Flames have about a gazillion of those in the system and everyone wants them to draft another one. There also isn't room in the top six to give him a shot. They already have Kuzmenko, Huberdeau, Sharangovich, Zary, and Pospisil, with Coronato and Pelletier who need to be playing in the NHL next year, and Honzek and Suniev probably earning a look in the next couple of years. Pospisil's really the only one who's likely to end up as a bottom-six guy. They need to be trying to trade 2-3 of the prospects.

Maybe Pelletier and/or Vancouver's first would be enough to get one of the defencemen from Montreal.

Looks like the rankings after Celebrini are all over the place. Going to be some suprize picks.
Once the Flames pick Celebrini 1st oa, it would be nice if Conroy could pick up another earlier 1st. I’ve see Markstrom’s name in many proposals, the latest was to Detroit for Husso and the 16th. Would Coleman get you Ridley Grieg out of Ottawa? Fits Conroys MO.

Honzek has an upper body injury from Dub playoffs and didn’t play. Also not sure if his ATO extended into the AHL playoffs. Sam Morton’s did, so.. 🤷‍♂️

Injury was unrelated to the lower body injury that had him miss the first 25 games. Tough luck season.

They’re also drafting in a spot where it might be a reach not to take another defenceman. There's a deal to make there. I think Hutson and Guhle are probably the only untouchables.

No. We already know how the draft works. They do the lottery about an hour before the announcement in a controlled setting. They collect phones and watches from anyone in the room. There's zero chance they posted the actual results hours early on a giant video screen that someone could take a picture of and tweet out.
