Ya I'm not sure how that works exactly. Because there are players that come over after their Euro leagues to play in the playoffs. Maybe there's an AHL game threshold? Or it's a contract thing? Because there was chatter of him coming up to the Canucks after his Abby stint before... - NewYorkNuck
Ok, thanks. I don't see Tocchet adding a prospect rookie to the picture without lots of practise with the team beforehand, so I stand by my comment that it's very unlikely he would be brought up for "a look". |

I could see him being brought up to practice with the team if Abby gets eliminated tonight and they insert him late in the series if there are injuries/they need to change things up after losing |

This is from the Hockey News:
Just like defenceman Elias Pettersson, Lekkerimäki is eligible to play games at both the NHL and AHL levels during his reported brief stay in Vancouver. He is also eligible to participate in the playoffs this year despite not being on the roster before the trade deadline. While it is unlikely, he sees game action, bringing Lekkerimäki in allows to player to get a bit more familiar with the Canucks system and coaches ahead of his full-time arrival next season.
Seems like he could play. I could see them bringing him up and getting him in some extra forward practices. If they're having trouble scoring, it might be worth it to mix him in. Unlikely, though. |

Delorme is/was a trash scout. - VanHockeyGuy
Maybe so but watching him I have to agree the kids phenomenal, he’s already penciled in for Canada at the world juniors. |

Pretty sure he was the Canucks Swedish scout that year. I also recall him pushing hard to bring him to the NHL right away, think he was one of the kids biggest champions. |

Appears to have it. Huge test this series. Hopefully they can keep EDM off the PP. - LordHumungous
It’s a huge test but not as huge as it’s made out to be. I’ve said many times special teams are PO difference makers. It’s a 2-way street not all a one sided story.
Both teams play at their best I give it to Van in 7. I base it on overall depth. Not much room for error. If the Oil D or goalie break down in 6.
If the Oil season & PO turnaround is legit which it appears to be Oil in 6 solely on McD being all world & Draisaitl his lethal self. |

“Ronnie saw him early and was a loud voice for him right from the start — even before any of us had seen him,” recalled Canucks general manager Jim Benning. “He was in my office and said ‘we’ve really got to watch this guy.’ He loved his skill and hockey sense.
“We saw Elias anywhere from 70 to 90 times in his draft year because he was a bit of a late bloomer. In Sweden, they identify top kids when they’re 12 or 13 and when he was 14 and 15, he wasn’t one of those. He came more into his own at 17 when he had a growth spurt.”

Well,
In the case of Pettersson, it was far from a one-man show.
“Scouting is a group effort for us,” he said. “We have Inge Hammarstrom over there and Thomas [Gradin] traveled there, but Elias played in the U20 tournament in November...and we had plenty of guys that cross over to Sweden. So, there’s no one person that drafts. If there’s a player we like, we have long discussions about that player. It’s definitely a group effort when we find someone special like Pettersson.” |

Yeah Delorme told Benning, Benning told scouts keep an eye on him and they watched him about 80 times that year.

Winning 4-2 over the Preds one of if not the hottest team going into the PO’s without Demko after game 1 & Petey pretty invisible says a lot. It was no fluke season or mirage.
Need all hands on deck & contributing til if or when Demko is healed up. House money but the players don’t buy that. Easily this series is the biggest turning point in well over a decade. Miller is hungrier than any Oiler imo. Hughes 5pts while still being the major focus. More time & space for him is the Oilers problem they face. |

No...perhaps you should read about it. Inge Hammarstrom, along with several other European amateur scouts for various teams, were watching him when he was 15 years old in Sweden. Delorme however is the one who made the biggest push for taking him at the draft. He didn't "find" him though - LOL. |

You are correct.
I remember hearing Benning in an interview say no it was not Gradin and I will leave it at that. No need for 10 pages on who cares.
