I was the same I thought someone scored and I missed it to end the game.

It was only for about 10 seconds, but when there are 29 seconds left....


I know it got me scrambling for the remote to see if they switched it to TRUTV or some bullpoop.

By the time I found the remote it had switched back.

It's bad enough that I have hated ESPN coverage the last few years and all I want is my center ice package back...yearly fee for ALL games and playoffs (soooo complicated).

When does this contract expire for ESPN? Soon right....

ESPN as a whole, is a far cry from what it used to be and why I can't justify a subscription, even to watch the NHL...I miss the days of Thorpe and Clement.

It's bad enough that I have hated ESPN coverage the last few years and all I want is my center ice package back...yearly fee for ALL games and playoffs (soooo complicated).

It was a mistake if they turned down a 1st and a 2nd if that rumor is true. Last year he played 3 fewer minutes than the year before. His shooting % was down about 25% and his PIM were up significantly. They should move him now.

Yes. I get that it’s just noise but it shows that the fans base is starting to get annoyed with the status quo. I actually hope they don’t change a thing. It’s fun to watch.

Unfortunately I don't think it expires for quite awhile yet. I think the NHL signed a 7 year deal with them although I don't actually remember when the contract was signed.

Looks like it expires 28-29...guess the fans lose on that deal.

Toronto tried to not tank when Burke was hired as GM and it backfired. Tanking literally got them one of the best players in the game and several other elite players. Their problem is they haven’t gotten an elite defenseman. Montreal only just began their tank 2 years ago and it’s showing promise. NJ has stockpiled a ton of talent which we saw last start to come to life last year and if not for injuries they’d have been a playoff team for sure this year.

But let’s adopt the Dallas plan who’s won (checks notes) 0 cups this century. The elite talent is what brings the winning culture.

If you can’t identify the correct talent in the top 10 you’re not going to be able to identify the talent outside the top 10.

I don’t see how any of those trades really help the Leafs right now. Drafting a top defenseman this year means waiting 3-4 years for him and wasting Matthews and Nylanders prime. I think they have a good goalie in Woll and would look to run with him and get a quality guy to pair with him. What Toronto needs is a 1st pairing defenseman.

This announcer needs to stop yelling. He’s horrible. Never liked him but for some reason espn loves him.

Marner is a great player (even though Toronto fans don’t think so right now). Would love to have him on the Flyers but you run into the problem of too many wingers. If the Flyers were a contender that was solid on D and at C and looking for that last big piece on the wing, then for sure go get Marner. But they’re not close at all. Just like with TK, if the Flyers had Marner right now I’d be saying trade him for top picks or an elite young defense or center prospect.
