I don't disagree with that, but what indication has Frost ever given you that he is going to put the puck in the net at an elite level? He rarely even looks to shoot. He's a good playmaker, but I just don't see the compete level out of him that is necessary for the NHL. He has flashes where he looks good and then he disappears again. He was invisible down the stretch this season and smiling on the bench when he was benched for the last half of the most important game of the year. Talent without work ethic is really kind of useless. - Phillywhiteout
If he produced consistently he would be a top line player. No one should expect that from him. He is a middle six guy and he produces points like one. He is a sound defensive player as well.
Not sure why people expect more out of him.

Do you "notice" him? That's the true measure of a player. - mickel25 This is my point about Frost. Just too many games where he is completely invisible. |

You left off Ekblad (1st overall) and the fact that Florida used Huberdeau (3rd overall) to trade for Tkachuk.
Where is Elias Petersson (5th overall)? How about Byram (3rd overall traded for Mittelstadt) for the Avs? Svechnikov for CAR (2nd overall)? All of the teams left save for Boston have had at least 1 top 5 pick and some have had multiple. Sure, recognize talent. You know what gives you the best shot at doing so? Picking in the top 10. - TobyFlenderson
Read. It’s the top 3 playoff point producers for each team currently. A lot more guys out of the top ten leading their team in points than top 10 guys.
Verheage, Robertson, Johnston, Pasta, Ratface, Guentzel, Trocheck, Aho, Brock, Miller would all automatically be best player on the Flyers & everyone would kill to have those guys. None of them top 10 draft picks |

I was going to ask but if he drops to the FLA pick, would you take the chance there? - J35Bacher
I'm not trying to be sarcastic when I aaked the question. I have read his off ice issues and have read with things he has been involved with to rehab his image. I generally do not know what the timeline is for redemption is when someone is putting in the time for rehabilitation. I would have no issue with the FLA pick and think seriously about him @ 12 depending on how the board fell.

Talent is talent.
If he puts the puck in the net at an elite level I would take that and try to round out the rest. I don't need more Scott Laughtons. I need talent. - J35Bacher
Nolan Patrick had a ton of natural talent….sure there was injuries, but he never seemed to have that drive even when he was healthy. I think it matters. |

Thing is Eiserman is probably playing a year of college. So he will get time to develop at Boston, i think that is where he committed. College hockey has gotten so good now, i think you'll see him take more steps in other parts of his game. - J35Bacher
will the flyers be more hesitant about college players at this time? |

What is "invisible" to you?
|
|
|

I always get a kick out the "he was invisible" comments. Especially when it comes from sources who can barely tell that a game is being played. - MJL
so then this can never be the case? |

To his credit he's been doing a lot of stuff to get the stink off himself.
Whether that's enough for GMs and owners to consider him worth the risk will be a team by team thing. - Tomahawk
what did he do as it doesn't ring a bell? |

College hockey is now on the same level if not even better than JR. Eiserman has been on the radar for a long time in comparison to some of the top guys…his game gets picked apart, but he still looks like he could be really good. |

Personally, I believe there is still more. I believe his growth has been stagnated by Yeo and by Tortorella. At some point though, the effects of that may be permanent. We may be there with Frost.

There are very few assets the Flyers have that are untouchable. Michkov might be the only one. If a deal makes sense hockey wise, checking all the boxes for a rebuilding team. Then Frost or anyone not named Michkov should be moved. - MJL
Agree. But I am not just moving Frost because I want to. It would have ot make sense.

I agree that he could have more to his game. I do not think he will make the jump to a top line player though.

what did he do as it doesn't ring a bell? - hello it's me 2050
https://theathletic.com/5...prospect-trevor-connelly/
Many NHL evaluators were already aware that, in 2022, when he was 16, Connelly posted to Snapchat a picture of a teammate sitting on the floor of the children’s area of a library with building blocks assembled in the shape of a swastika. Connelly added the caption “creations.” He was removed from his team, the Long Island Gulls, after that incident. Connelly apologized for the posting of the swastika and said he didn’t understand how hurtful it would be to others. Some NHL people were also aware he had been accused of directing a racial slur at an opponent during a game in 2021, which he has denied. He was initially suspended after that allegation, though the suspension was not upheld, with the disciplinary committee for the California Amateur Hockey Association writing that the allegation could not be corroborated. Connelly told The Athletic he doesn’t use racial slurs. Some teams were also aware that Connelly had been involved with four amateur programs from 2020-22, an unusually vagabond career for a player with his talent; one of those stops, at Bishop Kearney, a high school in Rochester, N.Y., with a select hockey program, lasted less than two weeks.

My #1 complaint with Frost is that he seems to let the game come to him too often. He doesn't go out and impose himself as much as I would like to see.
Its not all the time, and when he is going he is doing that often. But when he disappears, he really disappears.
And what I mean by that is not necessarily throwing hits. But looking like he is involved and not just skating in circles. Go get the puck, get your stick on a pass, break up a rush, get a takeaway, force a turnover, create a scoring chance, etc...
He needs to be more consistent (just like everyone else) |

nice...long island gulls not surprised as they have had issues over the years. to get booted from Kearny is also interesting as they will take anyone with talent.
Seems like a paul holmgren special reclamation project. I would take a chance on him 100% |

We speak about how the Flyers need elite talent. So hypothetically @ 12 - Yakemchuk, Eiserman, and Connelly are on the board. Who should be the pick? |

It's the same thing that TK and B Schenn went thru.
The same thing that Owen Tippett is going thru.
Ditto Farabee.
Most players never break out of that inconsistency. It's what separates the best from rest.
Door's not closed on Frost, IMO. What he has to do is to make it impossible for Torts to take him out of the lineup. That's his only path to success here. We'll see if it happens. |
