That corner to the right of Andersen is good ice for the rangers. Lots of goals happening from that area of the ice

What a great game- I honestly thought the bridge was going to collapse after the VT goal - I think it was Bean Dip who predicted some goals by Laffy- great job!

IDK why it bothers me, but anytime NYR does well its said by the talking heads that it is all b/c of Shesty or Hank. Don't get me wrong, Shesty played great, and obviously having an elite goaltender makes NYR better.... but did he save that many more high danger chances and make so many more "incredible" saves then Anderson? Yes, shots were 57 to 39, but Canes had 13 more blocked shots. Just seems to have a bit of an under toned NYR hate.

the shot totals go up because Carolina doesn't score on their powerplays

if they actually scored on them they wouldn't shoot as much

The one 'Canes fan I know texted me this morning that "the better team lost." I didn't respond, because I know he's not having a great day. But, I instantly thought, "you know, the goalie IS part of the team, right?" We just choose to build from the net out, rather than from the forward group back.

Expected goals for (XGF) based on last night's shot locations were 4.14 for the NYR (scored 4 goals) and 5.95 for Carolina (3 goals). You can just feel the Shesterkin factor in that stat. (XGF courtesy of Sportlogiq). If you love this type of analytics, follow

Against 86 unblocked shots, Igor Shesterkin saved 2.43 goals above expected tonight, per
@NatStatTrick
. Was the Rangers' backbone in Game 2.

Out of the 6 games so far, I thought the media has been pretty fair. 5 games I thought the rangers were the better team, and most of the media said that, and yes last night Shesty saved our bacon.

I am thinking Trouba will be made to miss game 3 because of the superman act? I think he almost killed himself! How was he not forced into concussion protocol?

If we weren’t 6-0 so far I’d be on his ass like white on rice but whatever. He is one of the more underused guys so far so he hasn’t much opportunity to do anything

He’s at his best with Chytil on his line. For whatever reason he just doesn’t do much with anyone else

Side note, Wennberg was pretty good last night down low and on the boards. He doesn’t create much but he definitely doesn’t cost us much either

just watch his play before the 3rd trouba penalty, the neutral zone trip.

kakko is so slow out of the zone, zero straight line speed. he gets caught up to, then makes a half ass attempt to get the puck deep but throws it right at skjei (i think). skjei just flips it out and b/c trouba thinks its going deep is caught flat and takes the trip.

speed has been his problem since day one. He just doesn’t have any zip in his skates

I'm not going to defend him if Jim is not !! Jimmy would help any Rangers player burry the body and he's annoyed.

I think we learned from Laffy- sometimes indecision makes you look slow....or sometimes you really are just slow.
