Quebec city, hamilton, vancouver, kansas city, omaha are apparently some of the cities so far.

I think it will fail hard, especially in Canada.

EF - expects them to do their best to change the core.

EF - also says Leafs interested in McLellan but could lock into Berube as early as this weekend.

From the tweeter

"Rod Brind'Amour about to fail in the playoffs due to subpar goaltending, a complete lack of offense, and a powerplay that's disappeared?

He's basically auditioning to be @MapleLeafs coach"

How much do the Oilers offer Draisatl this summer?

Do they play out next season without an extension?

Neat. WNBA is also coming to Toronto in 2026. (Summer hockey news sucks)

I back read a bit, saw your post about the management pressers. You got it right. It's a bunch of yadda yadda yadda

As for the idea Shanny wasn't "available" and so trades died on the vine, I don't know if I fully believe he wouldn't answer his phone/texts but it was described last year that deals went through him.

Dubas idea > Shanny > Shanny presents to the board without Dubas present....I can see the deals falling through because of that long process. Especially around the deadline.

Do you seriously believe this? Do you think trades come out of thin air on trade deadline day?

Scenerios and trade talks happen for months, there are no surprises and I am sure the board approves and disapproves of all scenarios going into it.

Sigh...there's multiple teams in on trades at the deadline. It's why we discuss every year holding out until someone raises their asking price when trading a player away.

Means that if Calgary ups their ask you can't wait for board approval to match our beat it.

Also there's no way the board can have an answer for every scenario considering some players become available AT the deadline and that sellers don't know "months" in advance they are sellers.

Hertl was not known to be a trade target months in advance.

Lol what? Yeah to the fans.

You really believe it came out of no where?

The board is not causing trades to fall out because of a time issue, that is so silly.

Teams talk trades all the time, scenarios for trades. Why wouldn't they be prepared? What do you think AGMs do? They go ask for prices and scenarios for trades.

Show me the articles being reported Hertl was being traded while injured.

It's never "nowhere". However it isn't 6 months in advance. I don't get how you think it's all set back in October on who's trading what and which prospects are being trade baited. No one knows who will perform or move up the "can't trade" list. But hey you do you.

Keefe had 1 last coaching moment. He taught the president and gm , it looks good to take blame. The difference being keefe was genuine.

I did enjoy the question to the ceo. How to justify keeping the president after firing the coach. There was no real answer.

Watching all this looks more like a corporation staging public damage control after an enviromental disaster. It does not resemble a hockey club

Articles? Trade talk is not public knowledge

They are paid quite well to work all year long. Trades do not come out of no where lol.

Getting approval for a trade doesn’t necessarily mean you have to go back and forth with every proposal and counter proposal. It’s far more likely that you get approval for the broad parameters of a deal and have flexibility within those parameters.

GMs have bosses and those bosses have boards. If there was an issue it’s more likely that Dubas and Shanny disagreed

Welcome to the wonderful world of useless press conferences. It's why I never watch them. Useless.

Media members always talk about big names being traded. If it was widely known one of them would have discussed it.

Hertl was not on the market when he was moved to vegas.
That was out of nowhere to the public.

I believe even the vegas GM said it came together quickly.

I only heard one discussion on Sportsnet a few weeks prior, but it was about San Jose and Hertl was simply mentioned in passing and they said they dont know why he would want to move.

Not saying the gms hadnt had discussions about it prior.

Yes I understand that and know this. You do know two things can be happening at the same time right?

Dubas and Shanny can/likely did have friction and issues. Also could be the board needed to be in the "know" on a more upto the minute thing. That's how it was laid out last year with Shanny being the go between. Which simply doesn't work when necessary.

Also once it came out it explained, to me at least, the odd trades like Foligno. I felt that was a Shanny move all the way through.

After each losing game, the player who had the worst performance is subjected to beatdown in the locker room. All of the other players must get at least one good shot in. Worst player is determined by a blind ballot vote from players who dressed that game.

After a few severe beatings (nothing too severe that causes serious injury), the team will suddenly start having multiple extended winning streaks. Losing streaks will disappear.

This is nothing that good old-fashioned institutional violence can't handle.

Hey, the Aztecs had it worse. Losing team was executed. Never a single losing streak in their league's history!

Hertl had come to Grier earlier in the year ...he was open to a trade b/c he wanted to win.

"Ever since I got here I've tried to be honest, have open and honest conversations about the situations that we are in and how they feel about these situations and if they would like the chance to go somewhere else," Grier said. "Tomas got to a point this year where he wanted a chance to win a Stanley Cup and I got that. He's a good player. He's getting a little bit older and we're still in the phase of kind of rebuilding this thing and we're years away from being that playoff team... I think he came to the conclusion that his time of being productive NHL player didn't match up with the timeline for the team."

I don't know man, feels like trading away Rielly might imply years of looking for a guy to replace him.

I already told you the plan Scabeh. Noah Dobson.
