You're really comparing gambling to knowledge of rape and doing nothing about it?

I don't want a coach that never lasts where he goes.

Tells me he gets stale very fast with players.

No thank you.

- Santo_44

He lasted 3 years with Columbus, 3 years with Florida, 3 years with Vegas, and 2 years with the NYR

Craig Berube lasted 1 season with Philly, and 4 seasons with the Blues....sounds like you are just making up reasons.

Ever look up what Craig MacTavish did. Given a 2nd chance. Then a career as a coach, executive, TV analyst. Seems worse than Q...

Hard not to like the guy.

Life as a coach. Best before dates on every one of them.

But he isn't though.

Deserves a 2nd chance.

And there is absolutely no doubt he is the best qualified person to do the job.

Former Leafs player, from the area and a 3 time Cup champion.

He knew about a significant crime, and thought his stanley cup run was more important. I cant believe that there are people out there that are even considering him to be a viable candidate.

Oh boy.

You are the only one making up things lol.

Philly he coached 2 full seasons.

St Louis he coached 5 and then a 3rd.

If you don’t want to count the 1st season as full you can (frank) right off he won the cup.

Gallant has never coached more than 2 full seasons on a team ever. He simply does not last on any team. No thank you.

Because it’s Toronto. We’ve seen it numerous times in Pittsburg but it’s good when they do it. Or if MacKinnon does it it’s great leadership.

I hate the Toronto media.

- shack67

Toronto media and Toronto fans.

Marner says that the fans treat the players like gods.

Why exactly is their controversy with this statement?

It's absolutely true, and it's Marner (awkwardly) acknowledging his appreciation of the fans.

But no, some Leafs fans need to weirdly spin at as Marner's ego is too big.

WTF?

Really? He KNEW it happened? He was in the room? He watched it? He participated? There was a charge laid? A trial? A conviction? A sentence? An appeal?

Not what happened.

He knew of an accusation. He told his superiors. They failed to do more.

Was he at fault to some degree in the situation? Yes. But not to the degree that he can't ever be given a 2nd chance to coach in the NHL ever again.

The lie travels the world twice before the truth puts it's shoes on. The concoctions of lies of what Quenneville was actually at fault for are ridiculous.

This is bizarrely reminiscent of Penn State.

Joe Paterno covers up child rape, and what does the NCAA do?

They punish the team - kids who had nothing to do with it.

And it’s been said before about their western road trips. Leafs nation treats them like gods even when they’re on the road. Marner was tipping his hat to the fans, nothing more.

I actually like what Shanahan has done over the years.

He purposely tanked the team - something nobody in Toronto had the guts to do for 50 years.

He held onto draft picks, which turned into the most talent this team has seen in years.

And he acquired top end talent. I think that looking back, signing Tavares was a mistake, but there isn't a single guy here who hated it at the time of the signing.

Most importantly, he stopped MLSE from continuously sacrificing long-term progress with short-term, reactive moves - something this franking team has been doing for 60 years.

We didn't get the results we wanted.

But I still like the process we followed.

They absolutely can decide to ban anyone from the league if they want to.

Just like how Mitchell Miller still couldn't play in the NHL after the Bruins were dumb enough to sign him.

Or how Logan Mailloux needed to wait for the league's approval to sign his contract with the Habs.

Now of course, if Q wants to coach his grandson's M13 team, he's free to do that.
