Really? He KNEW it happened? He was in the room? He watched it? He participated? There was a charge laid? A trial? A conviction? A sentence? An appeal?

Not what happened.

He knew of an accusation. He told his superiors. They failed to do more.

Was he at fault to some degree in the situation? Yes. But not to the degree that he can't ever be given a 2nd chance to coach in the NHL ever again.

The lie travels the world twice before the truth puts it's shoes on. The concoctions of lies of what Quenneville was actually at fault for are ridiculous.

Nice reg season things.
But we've had better playoff things, much better than what we have now
Hopefully not the best we'll have

Shanahan should get the axe, but he's made so much $$$ for MLSE, I can see why they aren't keen to cut ties. This organization has shifted from a depressing collection of has-beens/ selling all futures to win now into an undoubtedly talented team, albeit one that can't get it done when it counts. Keefe departs as the highest win % coach in league history - he'll land a plum gig, possibly with his buddy Kyle again.

Those better playoff things were always upsets in early rounds. I don’t remember them ever being contenders, except in our own minds.

The caps took a lot of heat too until they won.

What lie? Quenville told management they shouldn’t do anything about the sexual abuse because it would hurt team chemistry during the playoffs. He lied and said he wasn’t at the meeting where this was decided but all the other participants acknowledged that he was there. As a result Aldrich was allowed to stay around the team and Beach for weeks after they learned about what had happened . Pretty much everyone else in that meeting except Cheveldayoff is out of the game.

I’m a firm believer in second chances but there’s no way a team has to hire a head coach if they have serious reservations about his character.

Oh boy.

You are the only one making up things lol. Everything you said was not true except him coaching the rangers for 2 years.

Philly he coached 2 full seasons.

St Louis he coached 5 and then a 3rd.

If you don’t want to count the 1st season as full you can (frank) right off he won the cup.

Gallant has never coached more than 2 full seasons on a team ever. He simply does not last on any team. No thank you.

I liked, didn't love, Keefe. sad to see him go.

Change was badly needed though. Wish the core 4 could just find that extra gear that I now believe they don't have.

Yeah, it’s time to switch that core… and that will start with a Marner move… as for Tavares I expect him to stay but at dirt cheap, if he wants something major I doubt it will be with the leafs.

Next year will be…. Intriguing…

That could explain their difficulty in finding it.

Keefe seems like a good guy. For me there were too many repetive issues typically associated with coaching:. Poor starts, let downs after goals, mail ins vs weaker opponents, bench minors, goals against late in periods, shrinking in big moments, poor powerplay. The same issues continued throughout his tenure.

I actually like what Shanahan has done over the years.

He purposely tanked the team - something nobody in Toronto had the guts to do for 50 years.

He held onto draft picks, which turned into the most talent this team has seen in years.

And he acquired top end talent. I think that looking back, signing Tavares was a mistake, but there isn't a single guy here who hated it at the time of the signing.

Most importantly, he stopped MLSE from continuously sacrificing long-term progress with short-term, reactive moves - something this franking team has been doing for 60 years.

We didn't get the results we wanted.

But I still like the process we followed.

- Atomic Wedgie

Agree with this. I think a lot of people have forgotten what it used to be like pre-Shanahan.
