Ruff didnt look like an adams hire and this doesn't change that appearance

Now if it all works out it doesn't matter. But no one can ever convince me adams is running this team

Also smells like Meatballs didn't want anybody on his staff potentially taking his job.

Seems like more Terry and KA and not Donnie.... I dont think Donnie had any choice in who his staff was. Just like it seems Lindy doesnt.

The whole staff failed. Once they tried to implement a Hockey system instead of a Run and Gun system they were lost. To much inexperience. And with Appert, who's system are the Sabres playing ? Is Ruff implementing and Appert learning or is Appert implementing and Ruff is here guiding.

As we move into next season, I am thrilled with the staff we have assembled, and the work has already begun to prepare for training camp and the entirety of the season ahead.”"

"Adams and Ruff are open to adding other assistants to the NHL staff, but, according to sources, they aren't planning to add anyone else for next season. Appert joins defense coach Marty Wilford, goalie coach Mike Bales and Matt Ellis, who will move into an eye-in-the-sky role."

The only other thing I expected is an additional assistant coach and Matt Ellis exorcised from the bench. So that's a failure to me.

This promotion makes a lot of sense when you think about it. Rosen, Kulich, Levi, Johnson, Ostlund, Whalberg will feel much more comfortable playing in Buffalo.

Ruff is going to fill in for Meatballs and try to run all skill:

I dont personally know but he is helping coach the only team that will have a chance to stop Florida from steamrolling the entire east

He helped coach largely the same amerks team without levi to the conference final last year

The Rangers have championships in mind and thought he was good enough to hire away from us. The sabres are setting records for futility and let him walk

Amen - that to me is the biggest issue. Keeping the jamokes that coached under Granato. What did they do to deserve the retention? Really, what did they do?

But the power play he ran was Granatos. He had no ability to change or tweak it. He was essentially following his bosses orders.

Thanks tips... He told us he was taking over the PP in January. It didn't change.

Im sure Ellis could of made changes, especially in-game. He's a sheep.
