The only other thing I expected is an additional assistant coach and Matt Ellis exorcised from the bench. So that's a failure to me.

Retaining Wilford is a failure as well.

Appert was somewhat expected. I don't agree with it myself as I would have preferred they pry away guys with proven NHL coaching experience running solid units for D and PP.

None of that was accomplished, and it is beginning to feel like last offseason with middling moves.

Has Adams ever bought anything in his life as first-class or is he a bottom feeder buyer. Retaining Ellis and Wilford sends a strong signal that he is the latter.

Generally agree, yet I wouldn't want to have the Goalie position consume 12% of the Cap, let alone just one of them.

Sabres issue will be the cost of their D group, especially if Byram signs long-term here. I'd they decide to acquire a partner for Power, that will really push the cost of that position group much higher.. unless they can offload both Sammy and Cliffy.

This promotion makes a lot of sense when you think about it. Rosen, Kulich, Levi, Johnson, Ostlund, Whalberg will feel much more comfortable playing in Buffalo.
