Cuck's hardline statement of "win now" (repeated several times) would dissuade me of thinking any of those prospects force their way here.. - TheSabresTaco

Sounds like the 11OA is in play. I think they'll add up front. Hopefully it's for players that move the needle and allows Lindy to slot players in their proper places. We'll find out in the next few months. - Powerslave
I still think we need a top 4 RD and a middle 6 center as our 2 biggest needs

Cuck's hardline statement of "win now" (repeated several times) would dissuade me of thinking any of those prospects force their way here. He's very interested in building an "abrasive" bottom 6 and that group aint it. I think he buys/trades for that top 6 forward.
While I definitely think it's possible Benson is not a top 6F in terms of Today Skill by 10/10, I don't think any other prospect is here to start. I'd be impressed if even one started here. - TheSabresTaco

That's fair. I'm banking on Lindy having a lot more power, and better vision than Don.

I like your idea of Stephenson.
There are others that fit that bill, though. If Kevy-poo is aggressive enough. |

Same. Matt Roy and Boone Jenner would be super solid.

if he had a few of his guys with him behind the bench I would agree and be more optimistic |

There's many different version of 'the best kind of player'. The one most effective in the playoffs is skilled, smart and hard to play against. That player could be Nate MacKinnon, Valeri Nuchuskin, Sasha Barkov, Matt Tkachuk, Brad Marchand or Jason Robertson.
They're not all tuff. But they're hard as (frank) to play against
- TheSabresTaco
I'm all for adding those types, they are unicorns though, trying to make the playoffs next year, I am looking for realistic additions that could spark the group, in a manner that is entirely different to the existing group.
It's a different approach that at worst burns a bigger hole in the seat that Olofsson sat in last year

yup
a few guys need to go out IMO to really change the culture and roster to compete for the cup
slow play days should be done at this point to improve the roster |

I guess I'm in the minority but I loved the way Appert coached Rochester. I think he can bring a lot to the forwards.
Keeping Matt Ellis from being an elementary school gym coach is the real scam here.

Coaching can make all the difference in the world. Being taught to be relentless is something a good coach can absolutely affect.
That's my hope at least. We know Lindy is a good coach and his teams make the playoffs.
Now it's getting them to do it.

if Lindy got to bring a few of his guys in with Appert then the optics would be much better
right now I feel if the assistant coaches had term, too cheap or adams is too loyal to buy them out
goes against the money is no longer an issue for the sabres speech |

Well I mean they fired Granato before his extension, not sure how much they're paying the video coach or Jason Christie but they were fired too.
I don't believe they'll keep people so they don't have to pay them to not work. I do strongly believe Matt Ellis is here because of Nepotism. "Eye in the sky"? (frank) off.

Should've just kept Samson Reinhart. You see him tossing Pasta around the other night? Kid has that IT factor. |

LOL, right?! Scoring 57 goals has a tendency to shut traps.
I love Levi and Kulich, I think they will do well, but what a great trade made by Florida. |

None of their trades have aged well. Risto was the best trade day value, but so far has provided nothing in the NHL.

As with most trades of roster players for prospects...
These things take time.
And that's no joke. Kulich and Levi are going to be NHLers soon, time will tell how they pan out. Personally, I think Rosen has the best chance of being an impact player of anyone we have in the system but Levi could certainly be the best of the bunch. He will be better than UPL IMO. |
