It's not going to be a pleasant experience for EP40 if this continues.

The fanbase/media will eat him alive. He just can't be a regular season player.

- VanHockeyGuy

I think that's a little premature to call that, this is his first experience in the post season and he's playing with guys who can't score. There's more at play, like get him some frickin talent to play with.

Joe Pavelski has one assist in 11 playoff games and he was the Stars second leading scorer this season, but they have A LOT of depth at forward. The Canucks do not. Which shifts the focus on Petey, and rightfully so, but the problem is bigger than just him not playing well offensively.

He's fine lol, the kid had 89 points this year. How come that's so easily forgotten? He hasn't been playing well offensively for almost three months but it's not like it's not in there somewhere. When he plays with offensively talented players he thrives, but he apparently can't drive that on his own, which is an issue!!

He looks like crap on the PP, even though he is playing with the teams best players. Right now, Tocchet is desperate, they were down 2 and needed goals, plus he has to be trying to get Pouty to play through it.
A couple games back, I defended both him and Mikheyev, as they played very good defensively, while also creating some chances, since then nothing.

Fair enough, he/they need to figure things out, it's not going to get easier.

TBH after what I saw last night I don't like VAN's chances on Thursday.

Tocchet has called the team out like this before and they’ve responded. I think they’ll be fine. Might see some lineup changes tough. Soucy back in for sure, maybe Highlander draws in for Lafferty. Wonder if they’d consider adding Lekker if they’re looking to boost their goal scoring depth/attacking prowess

They were all bad on the PP, although the 2nd unit looked decent.

You'd hope. Like I said last night there was zero urgency.

EP has the ability to be a game changer, he needs to learn to embrace the pressure like the other players on his pay scale. Maybe he needs to stop watching Maple Leaf games.

They could also look at putting Pouty on Miller's wing, have Blueger move up to replace Pouty on the 3rd line and have Suter drop down to play centre on the 4th line.
They also need to consider Zadorov as 2nd unit PP, the guy has been playing extremely well

"I just thought they needed some profanity in their life... and I brought some. I don't excel at a lot of things in my life, but f**k me am I good at that."

This Paul Maurice press-conference is a must watch 😂

I think it's the last big year of the Suter/Parise buyouts. The cap hits drop from 14.7 to 1.6 mil after that

Let me guess before anyone else says it...

Grrr Refs. Grrr DOPS. Grrr the League.

Everyone is out to get the Canucks and the league is trying to support McDavid.

- wreckage

Last night was the first night of this round where the officiating was completely fine. Oilers simply outplayed the Canucks, who for some reason couldn't get any shots on a goalie playing his first playoff game.

I feel like they should swap Petey and Garland. Garland has been one of the only ones effective at gaining the zone, and maybe Petey will get more looks on the 2nd unit with everyone feeding him

It is not a bad idea, but then the 2nd unit has no one to bring the puck in and buzz around like Garland, which is fine if the new look 1st unit starts scoring

At this point, Milky is reaching worst Canuck in history status. The dude is absolutely useless. 1 goal in his last 60 games. He creates nothing, I’m baffled he’s still in the lineup - RT doesn’t even mention him anymore. He needs to be jettisoned into fawking space. He shouldn’t play another game. Hogs was invisible. Petey is definitely not playing well but come on man - his wingers are doing/have contributed NOTHING! RT has to try something different. Put the lotto line back together, why not! Match them up against McD/Drai. Or put Petey with Garland and Dak.

Still have Lindy, Blueger, centring the other 2 lines. What we’re doing isn’t working - make changes!!! I feel like we’re back in the Travis Green era.

Cole MUST to come out - Soucy and Jules should slot in next game.
Lafferty is horrific - he gotta sit. Even Bluegar could sit.

Hronek has to start shooting - stop fawking passing inside the O-zone.

Bains, Pods, Sasson, Raty could all slot in and they would be NO worse than PDG, Laff, Blue, Hogs, Milky, Aman, Matching them up with any of Edmontons bottom 6 would be fine.

I don't disagree, as I posted a similar comment to that earlier today.

Petey should be a healthy scratch. I'm not over exaggerating he is a hologram. See if a game in the press box helps. If he wants out fine

Tochett nailed it with this...

"Some guys, I don't know if they thought it was the playoffs"

Not sure these guys have the passion or drive to turn this around?

- VanHockeyGuy

Thx Yorkie

Trade him & get a haul nothing to lose. I’ll have a useless jersey to match.

In all fairness to EP40, maybe he's not a fit in RT's system.
- VanHockeyGuy

Yup not a fit in a winning system. How ironic.
