IMO Adams doesn't know how to build a Hockey Team or atleast finish the Puzzle. Nice to have a lot of Skill Talent, but you need some guys that aren't afraid to have there face blemished to. Speed, Skill, Grit, Tenacity and Will all need to be mixed to make a Team

which is a massive pivot from 12 months ago because at that point, he wanted his bottom 6 to include characters such as what was here, re-signed to one year deals. and void.

The worst is the press conference that comes later where he says with that sheepish grin that he can't make players want to come to Buffalo.

let's take a look at recent history. Most pending UFAs get a pick. They're more popular around the TDL.

Colin Miller for a 4th
Matt Dumba for a 5th
Jack Roslovic for a 4th
Erik Johnson for a 4th
Jason Zucker for a 6th
Tyler Toffoli for a 2nd, 3rd
Alex Wennberg for a 2nd, 4th
Vlad Tarasenko for a 3rd, 4th

Not a very popular move around the draft:

Patrick Maroon and a prospect for a 7th
Corey Perry for a 7th
Josh Bailey and a 2nd for FC
Reilly Smith for a 3rd (2 years of control)

Based on the history, getting Jokiharju and a 2nd for Ehlers, getting a full season out of him, lines up to me. Can someone else beat that? I dunno. Maybe. How much more are teams going to pay for a one year rental? Sabres are using a low cost, middling defenseman with one more season of control, but he also has signing rights attached to him.

Deal in place? Well that changes the game a bit.

id put my money on him doing it. however, i wont put money on us liking it.

That looks to be a good guesstimate IMO.
Using that as the measuring stick, and considering the Compensatio of a 1st, 2nd, 3rd for an Offer Sheet (no I am not advocating to use it, just another reference point), it would seem an A prospect and a 2nd would be in the park as well.
