I dont really agree. ive said all along, he does the poop he says he's gonna do. we dont have to like it, but he's done it at painstaking lengths.
said for a few years he was going to let the talent percolate, not being active in ufa - does so
said he's going to get rid of guys wdwtbh - does so
said he's going to try to take the next step by being active in ufa and fortifying the defense - does so
said he wants to add a long term top 4 defenseman to the group - does so
now he claims he's going to be the busiest yet by adding a top 6 F, middle 6C and reforming the bottom 6
im not saying he did his job well. all im saying is that he's followed through. - TheSabresTaco
To recap the above, his plan of slow playing things sucked, going back as far as the offseason 2 seasons ago, and he's been subpar at the players he's brought in.
How does he still have a job? |

Levi, Quinn, Peterka, Power, Benson, Savoie, Kulich, Rosen (via getting a 1st for Risto which is even more remarkable), Ostlund, Whalberg, and the list goes on and on and on.
Tage, Cozens, Power, Dahlin combining for less then $34M in cap space for the next 6+ years
Getting Byram for Mitts while we are talking about Necas/Ehlers potentially not even bringing back a first rounder in a trade this offseason.
Brought in a top 5 coach in the sport to right the ship and is about to make some shockwaves this offseason.
I’m happy to be here

Yeah I mentioned that last night. Cap wise. Adams is fine cap wise.
We can easily move Greenway or samuelsson to open up space.

All of the above reads like this season should be his last chance.

He's gotta stop blaming the past, cause he's had a hand in it know. There's F@cking Talent on this Team and players outside see that! Adams needs to start pushing the right moves to turn some of those players looks toward Buffalo instead of hanging the phone up as soon as Sabres comes out - Buff36
I think Kevy needs to use the Trade market to acquire 2 impact players, Top 6 Wing and a 3C. That needs to be done before FA on July 1st. That 3C needs to be good on the dot, over 50% for sure and be able to play on the PK.
Once he solves for the above, then bring in Joshua at 4LW and Trenin at 4C to play with Greenway to address the grit and energy needs. Trenin however is going to be "expensive" for 4th line duties as he is projected at 4 x $3.4m...so, likely to be Krebs
I do not see them going after a Top 4 Dman...rather, they see how Sammuelsson and hopefully Johnson play as candidates there to find the proper fit among Dahlin, Power, Bryam.
So, perhaps something along the lines of:
Ehler/Necas - Tage - Tuch
JJP - Cozens - Quinn
Skinner/Benson - Stephenson - Skinner/Benson
Joshua - Krebs - Greenway
Power - Dahlin
Bryam - Sammuelson
Johnson - Cliffy
Bryson

Panthers facing the Rangers means another playoff meeting with old friend Vinny trocheck, he was still with Carolina last season. Trocheck was traded at the deadline during Bob’s first year with FL as Tallon tried to shake things up and save his job. Luostarainen was part of the return for trocheck. FL flamed out, and Tallon was fired. Enter Bill Zito....(long story short)
In the few years Zito has been in charge he has overhauled this roster so completely that, besides the half year with Bob here, Barkov and Ekblad are the only two left who were teammates with trocheck |

His drafting means nothing at this point because 3/4 of them haven't done anything. Your 34mill means Sh!t if Tage Cozens Power don't have better years.
He has slow played a Team that was ready 2 years ago to take the next step. |

Agreed overall.
Big FA signings don't have a high success rate, hence why I went the Trade route in suggesting Ehlers/Necas, Stephenson...then FA for lower level signings like Joshua and Stephenson ( low as in 3C, not celery which ~$6m.)
Edit, listed Stephenson as Trade, whe. I fact it is a FA signing. |

What grade does Tage + Cozens + Dahlin + Power + Samuelsson long term deals get today? C? Feels like it went down a full grade in the last year. |

Especially for the Sabres. There's a lot of good Hockey players available either way. Adams can't slow play this anymore, he's gotta do something with some of these Prospects for the know. To many and the shine is gonna wear off soon. He's got the Resources to do basically any move. Just how big does he go or more likely he doesn't. |
