Curious to see who had a worst first round with 3 picks, 2015 Bruins or 22' Sabres.

2015 Bruins and it isn't even close IMO. Mintyukov looks good but Savoie hasn't had a chance yet and neither look like world enders. No one behind them is doing anything significant at the pro level either, outside Poitras who everyone missed.

A tale as old as time:

Sticking with a 60-70 point, 200' player. Most players his age, virtually all of them, are playing in their junior leagues. The top ones dominating. Can't let the bias of a smaller statured guy who was 18 for the entire season get in the way of his career projection.

no one's using the savior word or insinuating as such. but the 'suck' insinuations are hot and heavy and it's untrue in every context.

I dk, the comparisons to Bedard's rookie season GAR are too much for me. Bedard is in a different galaxy from Benny. But I do agree folks have been too hard on him and he was one of the few bright spots from last year.

no one with a half serious post is going to say benson is a better player than bedard. different teams, different contexts. bedard's offense is way out of benson's league.

the GAR only tells us that he jeff skinner'd his way through the season. benson being a plus player with 30 points of offense as a pure 18 year old, picked outside the top 10, is pretty damn impressive.

all the signs are there that show he will become a successful top 6 wing. imo.

Sabres could use a few players that say " Get of my Lawn" on there Team. Might make them a better overall Team.

Sabres had 9, 16 and 28. I would definitely gamble on Buffalo.

Senyshen had 3 points in the NHL. Safe to say Matt Savoie and Jiri Kulich can beat that. Zboril has a few more than that, but is a flop as well. No doubt the talent level of our 3 beats out their 3. Could be a while before we see it all in the NHL tho

I think it's fair to mention with context. it's a historical fact that smaller guys have a lower success rate than bigger guys. i mean poop, if zach benson is 6'2" he's drafted 3rd or 4th.

but you're right, being a small forward has nothing to do with his extremely high end total skill set.

Agreed. Impressive for sure, just think we're bouncing back and forth between extremes with him sometimes. As you said before, he definitely doesn't suck, but I do think he has a long way to go still.

Benson needs to cool it with the penalties any time he gets stripped of the puck. Looks like a little piss pot. Other than that, looks like Flacccoville was right about him. Flashes of Brayden Point based on my observations. Flacccoville's been right about a lot lately.

Zach Benson is going to be a future Selke type two way stud imo.

Grab one more T6 FWD (Ehlers) and this team could explode next year if Quinn is heathy.
