Thanks for the heads up GP

I’ll be very surprised if Martin Necas plays for Carolina in the next season. As his dad said, Martin wants to play in 1st line & 1st PP unit. His dad even said in an interview for @DenikSport: ,,Martin wants to be traded.” In my eyes, Necas is a great offensive winger.

Per Andy and Rono on Twitter

Is this a way to keep Necas price down? At the sametime do we want a player like this?

At 2nd overall Hawks select Cayden Lindstrom then use the 20th and the 54rh pick to either move up or trade for young player rfa status that has fallen out of favor with the organization cannot resign him or change of scenery. Maybe Oliver walhstrom necas Holloway turcott kaliev are some examples a possible players might be on the radar of the Hawks.
- Scott1977

I'm not trading 54 alone for a change of scenery guy.

What Hawk that KD has signed has not been an overpay? Foligno? Perry? AA? Richardinson?

How else is KD going to get someone to sign with the Hawks if not to entice with dollars?

- LAHawk

It's one thing to overpay, but it's another to lock in that overpay for an extended period. The idea being that once the youngsters become NHL players and arrive at that moment where it's time to get paid, they don't have payroll tied up long term.

Not that they are going to have their pick of free agents to begin with. Sure, stars want to get paid, but not everyone is willing to spend their prime years in a rebuild. I think we see some of that with Seth. It wouldn't surprise me if he has gone to KD and asked to be traded, given that we've heard him say that this wasn't what he originally signed up for.

I hold out hope that KD and Kaner can agree to a return here. I have to think KD didn't want to sign him again because nobody had ever come back from that surgery before.

Just for the sake of discussion, what is the success rate of UFA signings in the NHL? For every Hossa, how many didn't live up to the contract? How many ultimately get bought out?

It simply will not happen.

There is a top group of 14 and three or four next tier "higher ups" and this draft significantly drops at around 17 to different level of upside and talent.

(You think it is a coincidence that so many of draft gurus have recently published lists that end around 15 before their entire prediction is revealed?)

So you are asking a team drafting in the top ten and probably needs some new hope for their fans (along with a closer to guaranteed success as "some type" NHLer) to go quanity or a guarenteed quality.

Because of the odd circumstances where so many defenseman are ranked (and they are simply SO different in their current strengths as defenseman) I will admit tehre is a CHANCE one or two might take advantage of dropping slots and gaining a pick(s).

The team most likely to trade is Montreal because they might feel drafting yet another defenseman this year is in their long term plan.
Even Montreal isn't trading out of the top 12, just using their prospect list / need to squeeze a bit more of pick #5.
(Many Hab fans are attempting to concote a trade where the Canadiens get #2 and the Hawks go #5)

I guess if the Flames admitted they need an influx of talent (and Tig Iginla is off the board) the a drop for more picks but they have 8 in the top 4 rounds and they might be looking for a trade partner whose sending them more picks in 2025, 2026, and this draft is the one Kyle has surplus in.

So if there is any early movement it might involve teams already sitting in that top dozen. (I alrready suggested that Philly might like to jump to add draft pick Bonk's defensive partner Sam Rich inson LD.)

In closing, all the teams in the top twelve are going to simply TAKE the guy they like.

Not thinking the other teams list is exactly the equivalent to ours...you just TAKE the guy you like for long term success.

If you pass on Demidov and Artyom Levshunov you don't look back.

You planted your flag pole on a big forwars and the future drafts will provide other chances if he is "only" a big second liner with speed, edge and hands...

I could see a deal like that for the Sharks moving 14 for 20 + 2nd and maybe a swap of like a 4th for a 3rd or whatever.

And Necas' reps think they can get him over 9mil and up to 11 million so we will see.

I really like Necas as a building block type player but I doubt the combinstion of salary and trade return to 'canes excites the Balckhawks.

I figured out a way to ensure Demidov coming over (if he's the pick). Danny ran the Wirtz liquor business for a time, right? Maybe several truckloads of vodka distributed to the right people over there will seal the deal.

At the 2022 draft, Grier traded San Jose's 11th to ARI for 27, 34 and 45.

So 14 for 20 and a 2nd OR 3rd may be reasonable.

That was me. If "nowhere" is my eyeballs and it's my observation.

It holds equal to some person POWERS interviews who clearly wants the kid drafted, and what better way to aid that is how great he is, what a good guy he is, waht a great player he is and who he will be on the play yesterday after his contract is up.

Lindstrom's back issues are done.

and if anyone things it is non fixable issue I suggest you go back to former NY Ranger Rod Gilbert's BACK SURGERY 5o years ago at 24... he recovered

Cayden Lindstrom's slight issues are NO comparison.

A great time to circel back to that link someoen put up that feartured Cam Robinson (Elite prospects scout & and a GOOD one) with these three Balckhawk fans thing they do.
I started feeling bad for him after he asnwered the question about the players that might be available at slot #20, and they didn't get it si asked again providing more names....

That "CHGO Chicago Blackhawks Podcast was brought to us by three lightweight hockey minds with fat slovenly bodies. The guy in the centre was so fact and disgusting to me I turned the screen to dark and just listend to Cam Robinson.
They just looked disgusting next to the double screen of Robinson who is fit in more ways that they ever will be. (Harsh!)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynHZls0bDBA

I guess I also didn't like the way one of the 3 bozos spent time with all the name calling on Rangers Trouba. (He started refering to the commercial he did with his mother, which is far as i am concerned is one of the BEST of self health.)
Look Moe Larry Curly, you are doing thios because you got a real scout to legitimatize your YouTube, and you are going off track from Hawks and draft while your guest is waiting to show your anger of the way Troba plays? I am not sure any of these three guys ever picked up a stick with skates on...probably just a spoon and fork.

If these are anyone's freinds, tell them they came off as sad reps of the Chicago game fans.

One was trying to make fun of how the RD positioin was "glorified" with obviously no idea of why.
Like so muany here on the board they have decided the second overall pick is between these two players and Cam Robinson helped blow that up as
MjulQvist said a few pages back, when Cam R said, b] Levshunov isn't even my top pair defenseman.

Robinson made me happty as he thought that Hage would be there.
Maybe even the swasita kid Connelly...

Zawaski has always been close to a super fan caricature but decent fellow. Used to listen to him on the score.

Boysen is a blow hard I could do without and he's mostly yelling at people in the chat. (the feller in the middle you didn't care for)

Not sure how Tirabassi got the job other than he's just been around for a while. One of those "hockey guys" that doesn't add a whole lot to the discussion. (guy on the right)

They're mostly pushing platitudes. There aren't a lot of in-depth or tactical breakdowns. Mainly regurgitating Powers and others information. And lots of Jones is a no 1 defenseman because he plays the most minutes justification as well. No real analysis on other metrics or break downs of actual plays to say "this is why" which irritates me to no end.

Though that is more of a hockey problem in general - long winded way of saying they don't bring a whole lot to the table compared to the other outlets. Other than some abrasive (Boysen) and condescending (Boysen and Tirabassi) personalities.

I prefer the faxes from uncle dale guys. They're at least self admitted bumholes and don't take themselves as seriously. Laz and Powers are just much better writers and journalists.

Some more Michkov info:

https://twitter.com/ADiMa...5rEopkF225hJjND5k3zA&s=19

My read on the situation is that the negotiation right now is between Michkov/his agent and SKA, centering around how much the team will be compensated to terminate the contract.

If money is right SKA is open to Michkov moving to North America earlier than expected.

Sort of a: How bad do you really want this guy? How much $$$ are you willing to spend to make it happen?

If the Hawks think thats the guy to play with Bedard then they'll probably just send them a duffel bag of cash.

Cap floor was kind of a thing. Won't be an issue in 2 years when Bedard is making as much as 3 of those guys combined.

I think anyone long term is signing to play for an organization that treats its players well, has incredible facilities and is in probably the best metro area in the country for food and all that.

If they were going to sign a Necas it would be for market value. There just isn't a need to entice players in their prime here with the direction the team is going.

VBear, I think the takeaway is as you mentioned, don't think anyone has failed to get out of the Soviet Union in the last couple decades. As far as I know anyway.

But, add in the first ground war in 75 yrs in Europe, the complete lawlessness in Russia, a war pig grifter runnin the joint and my low tolerance for risk with the #2 overall with 5-6 other options that have legitimate chances to be difference makers at premium positions I pass on what I see as the BPA in Demidov.

Can't miss on the #2. Can't. ...... But, if they draft Demidov I'll assume the Hawks believe he's coming and I'm jacked cuz he's my BPA.

- Mr Ricochet

Danny has the money to buy him out of there if they really wanted him.

Even in that environment I think the right amount of cash greases the wheels enough where they would let him walk.

That being said if Lindstrom or someone else is their guy it's a moot point.

Yes, I’d take Necas on the Hawks, but it really depends on what you have to give up and what his AAV will be. When it’s all said and done, Carolina will be tight against the cap.

I've said before that there is little logic in some NHL GM's thinking.

I understand trying to get as many kicks at the can as you can but Grier makes that move and ends up with zero chance at Conor Geekie, Nazar, Snuggerund, Rinzel and others.

Maybe it works out for him and the Sharks but I think something like that is a poor move.

Thanks for giving me names of the three guys on that video cast with guest star Cam Robinson.

I guess my gripe was mostly with Boysen and his calling out of Trouba and his mother b/c he hates the way Trouba plays the sport, i guess.

I dunno if I was doing a video hockey draft show live with others I would love to be able to talk instead of type, and not let the others talk that much, (LOL) but i really never lose sight that I could never play the pro game and the guys who do even the lesser lights are SO TERRIFIC at this game, I have trouble burying a STROME brother, or anybody with my criticism beyond the obvious...if the player is not a star I will say so.

There is also room to criticize players you hate w/o childish remarks- stick to staying the guy is tehre for one reason, or in your opinion he plays over the edge dirty but don't call, say, Cody Ceci names because of a vendetta.

Not enough time for the people watching to form or follow opinions if they are mired with unnecessary emotion.

Sure I am guilty of all accounts of yelling KILL Fontinato, or calling Ferguson every rotten word I know while at the games in my youth, but I am not going on the internet and undiplomatically conveying those thoughts.

I am going to hold much of my person emotion, because it helps further whatever arguments I vocalize.

I do think that the organizationa shakeups the playoff exits will cause may be beneficial to teams like the Hawks with a chance to acquire a better player or two.

You can make the same argument about Levshunov or another prospect. I’m sure Davidson and his scouting staff will do the analysis to figure out who the best pick will be.

Yeah I dunno - it's more or less Jay's show with the other two being the sidekicks. Growing up and listening to too much Buffone and OB after Bears games some of it seems kinda normal for Chicago sportscasters.
