Look Ass Hat, people were hating on they Flyers because people look for anything to laugh at them for. Did people click on other teams to see why they had more cap space, probably not.
So what I should have aske to the people making fin of the Flyers is why do they think the Flyers are at the top of the list. People asked what are they spending on, that was a very easy question to answer. People were not thinking of UFAs and RFAs, just the fact the Flyers have no cap space. Did they forget that 2 people will be going on LTIR or IR, no, they just wanted to make fun of the Flyers.
I know it meant how much room teams have to spend on free agents, but I am not looking to point out the Flyers failures like other love to do.
I am going to stop replying to you, I will not participate in helping you do your best impersonation of Toobin every time you try to point out you are a super genius compared to us pleebs. - WhiskeyMan
Look asshat, it was not misleading at all. You just don't understand it. Capfriendly is attempting to give an accurate picture of where a team stands. A large part of why the Flyers are where they are is due to bad contracts for players like Ristolainen and Atkinson. If you think the Flyers mismanagement of the cap and roster building can be excused by a couple of players who can be placed on LTIR. You would be wrong. I don't care whether you reply to me or not. Stick your head in the sand and pretend like the Flyers aren't a failure all you want.

why be upset they were are up against the cap in a year we aren’t winning anything when part of the reason is we took on RyJo for a 1st? Shouldn’t we weaponize cap space?
As soon as we do folks here are whining that we have no cap space to do anything. What exactly do you want them to do? Sign a big name in free agency? - anti-lame
How much of it is weaponized cap space and how much of it is bad cap management?
I want them to weaponize cap space to make deals. Hard to do when you do not have the space to do it. They need to move on from more (TK, Atkinson, Laughton etc) players to facilitate the rebuild. I am confident TK and Laughton will be on the Flyers roster opening day. Hopefully I am proven wrong.
In my opinion they are still trying to field a competitive team more than they are trying to rebuild. That is why I am frustrated with that cap number. |

It's hysterical how a poster who adopts a screen name of "anti-lame" is actually one of the lamest posters on the site. Including trying to pretend his is not "Black Francis" and the whole fantasy of how he has inside info on the team. Not to mention how he was publicly labeled a fool by Bill Meltzer. You really have to be one to get Bill to respond in that manner.

We shall see what they do this summer. Even trading Laughton will go a ways to get me thinking maybe they get it. We all know they are resigning Konecny.
My biggest fear is that they think they are closer than they really are.

When looking at future cap it’s important to factor in the TK and Hathaway extensions.
Also the next round of glue guys they plan to sign this offseason. - StepfordSam
I know the Flyers are the furthest thing from a well run organization but even they can't be that stupid to extend Hathaway. That's a deadline deal next season. |

Agree.
I really don't want a new TK deal. Don't hate the player, just see what needs to be done in the best interest for the Flyers.
Laughton should be moved.
Desluariers needs to be buried in Lehigh.
Atkinson I don't want to buyout. Let the contract run. I would be the mean man and bury him too in Lehigh if he can't win a roster spot and just keep that little cap savings.
Only way I would move Frost or Farabee is in good hockey deals. Other then that i like them
I revisit if Sanheim is open to moving and if there is anyone out there interested.
I put pretty much everything on the table but Michkov.

It's very possible that the Flyers won't have a choice but to buy out Atkinson. Depending on what happens with Johanssen. That is what some don't understand and what the Flyers cap situation tells us. |

I honestly do not think they will send Atkinson down out of respect for him. I do not see a viable trade happening unless they retain. They should save the retention slot for a more lucrative deal IMO. I also do not want them to attach an asset to move his whole salary.
So that leaves him on the everyday roster. They will 100% buy him out if they need to create space and avoiding LTIR is something they value.

I'm sure there's younger/cheaper versions of him out there. Plus if you're Hathaway, just hang em up. Already won in Washington. |

Yeah i get that.
I am curious about the Johanssen thing. Not that I want him to play but how he was moved, then gets a career ending injury without ever playing a game.

What is Kotkaniemi's value across the league? He only makes $4.8milper year and he is 24. Would they try to move him in a salary dump? |

There is a dispute on Johanssen and whether he is going to be medically cleared. If so, he could be bought out instead of Atkinson. Just a possibility that could impact what the Flyers decide to do.

I would say no. They aren’t willing to pay Pesce over $5 Mil.
|
|
|
|
So lets say the flyers are 5 6 million over the cap with a day to go before they have to hand in their cap compliant roster. Can they put Ellis and Ryjo on long term injury list to get compliant?
Basically, can the use that before the season starts? My understanding was they couldn’t.
