So was RP and NS this season and we saw what happened - corduroy
“Don’t fall in love with players…” or something like that.
I’m most frustrated because they make a move that indicates rebuild and then make a move that’s the opposite. Trading Walker was a rebuild move but then the Seeler signing said otherwise. |

Poehling is only 25 and his cap hit is reasonable both in cap hit and length. I can live with that. Seeler, on the other hand, I agree with you completely. I'm even more bothered by the term of 4 years than his actual cap hit. The NTC bothers me as well. At least they didn't give an NMC so he can be sent down if he ends up sucking. - MBFlyerfan
Didn’t they say say the 4th year was to bring the $ down? Why in the world are they negotiating with Seeler? You offer him a single low, take it or leave it offer. He doesn’t want it, ship his a$$ out. That move and the Erik Johnson trade infuriated me. |

Nice take on the Kolosov situation Bill.
What about the rumors of TK to Chicago? 2nd overall is out of the question, but what else could they give up with the 20th overall? - 2Real
I haven’t seen these rumors but…
Their top 2 prospects are centers Oliver Moore and Frank Nazar. They also have a boatload of picks:
In 2024 they have two 1sts, three 2nds & 2 3rds; in 2025 two 1sts & two 2nds; and in 2026 one 1st and three 2nds. |

you stalking my twitter account again? how you know had KFC?
RP is a dime a dozen 4th line center. You trade him for assets then find the next RP. Or you look to re-sign in summer as doubt the acquiring team would really look to bring him back on a 2 year deal.
Seeler should not have been given a 4 year deal. He is now overpaid with term for a bottom pair dman despite the fact he is top 4 on a wretched flyers team. With or without Seller the team is no better no worse. Many teams would have taken him and his 850 k contract on. Again then you go find the next Seller.
Called asset management. - hello it's me 2050
100%. Flyers seem to pay players based on where they play in their lineup rather than their actual value. I’ll bring this up, what is the point of Barry Hanrahan? |

you want to jettison perfectly capable players just for the sake of doing so. that's not a good look for any team to just be a conveyor belt of new faces, rebuilding years or not. - anti-lame

Asking yes. I don’t think the Canes will pay more than that. IMO they will try Chatfield in the top 4. - Minnyhock
They also potentially have Nikishin they could bring over. |

a defenseman at 31-35 that plays a hard game and wants to be a flyer, at his cap hit, is better than signing some bigger name vet to a higher cap hit thats just passing through town. there's plenty of room for kids to play. what are we even complaining about? - anti-lame
Why are those the 2 options though? According to rumors they’re still interested in pursuing a veteran defensman, like the main article on HB saying they’re looking at Chychrun and Chabot.
Right now they have:
Sanheim/York
Seeler/Drysdale
Zamula/Risto
Attard/Andrar
Ginning
So standing pat means theres only a single spot for Zamula, Attard, Andrae, or Ginning to fight for. Adding another vet means there’s 0 spots. How about not keeping Seeler and also not acquiring a big name vet either. |

Chatfield blew the coverage on the game winner last night. - MJL
Oh, I missed that. I watched the Timberwolves right after the the Rangers 2nd goal. I think he’s come a ways though. May be wrong though.

Hanrahan doesn't have anything to do with how much players are paid or in negotiating salaries. He is just the guy who works the cap numbers and all of the convoluted and confusing rules involved with that.

Some officials are like some judges. They like the limelight. They crave attention and want you to know how important they are and how hard their job is.

I had no idea they could review if there’s a penalty; very bizarre . I still don’t think you can, what was that? |

I hear you on this. I'm a big Seeler fan but did not like the signing. He played above expectations this season before the injury, but he's a 5/6 guy on a good team. I hope I'm wrong but I have a bad feeling we will not benefit from the new contract.

If the team was rebuilding, as they should be, and you know they will be bad for 3/4 more years. It’s not horrible. But the fact that they are trying to to win, and make that signing. No hope for this organization. |

How do you all feel about the rankings of eliteprosects.com?
If thats accurate then the flyers have 2 potential studs to take in their 1st round picks. They have perekh and buium ranked at 13 and 14 respectively. Then jiricek and emery are ranked 31 and 32 in order.
If the Flyers get 2 of any of those 4 names then this is a potential homerun.
I believe it was Tomahawk who got me into following eliteprosects.com so I'm hoping that this is an accurate drafting order.

Tough ending for Charlie. Takes a bad penalty and then fails on a drag around. Still a helluva player tho.

McAvoy was dominant in game 5 and carried the team to victory. The winning goal tonight knocking the Bruins out was a leaky goal that should've been saved. Bruins need to find a way to get a 1C. Can't win without it.

Yeah, good wingers but it just shows you how hard it is to fill that 1C.

Yes, I'm always torn bc I know they need to rebuild but the selfish part of me wants to see them in the playoffs. The org will always want to sell tickets and people keep going, so they won't change their mentality to try to keep the team competitive during the rebuild. There's no way the Flyers will ever tank, so I'm willing to give DB a chance to see what his strategy is.

The last ranking I see from elite prospects is from April and they have Parekh at 5, Buium at 10, Jiricek at 30, and Emery at 35.
Buium is higher on most lists that have been released since the Frozen Four, where he was a huge reason Denver won the championship. Almost every other ranking has Jiricek in the teens, mostly high teens too. So EP is an outlier for his ranking. Emery is in and around the low 30s on most rankings.
I believe the top 5 D will be off the board before 12. But if there’s a stroke of luck and a bunch of teams screw up their picks and one of them falls to the Flyers then that’s absolutely a home run.
He keeps rising in rankings but if he does fall a guy that would be great with the later 1st would be Michael Hage. A high risk/high reward option would also be D Aron Kiviharju. Other options include: Artamanov, Mews, Hemming, Parascak, Basha, Hutson, Misa to name a few. |

I won’t be surprised if they sign Stamkos or Sam Reinhart. They’ve got a decent amount of cap space and could move Ullmark to get another $5m in space. |
