While it seems these things probably happen more often than the general public knows (young players being home sick and having culture shock) doesn’t every team have the resources built in to their business model to help them acclimate to their new environment?

It's no loss if he goes back. Likely a back up at best frees up those $$....on another note heck of a game in Carolina last night. Think there is a strong chance Brindy may be gone as coach. That team has a load of UFAS and RFAS and have accomplished nothing in the playoffs

did the flyers not give kolosov any support system? left him on his own?

If he does go back once again not a good look for the flyers. Regardless if their "fault" or not.

if he does go back does that impact what they may decide to do with Cal?

Hard to blame the kid looking at the flyers goalie situation contractually. Probably does feel like he’s blocked and is not all that interested in spending so much time in Allentown. Loan him back to the K

disagree as he isnt blocked at all. Sam and Ivan have 2 years left on their deals and neither are solid locks.

if he is good he would have had an opportunity.

It's pretty embarrassing honestly. What are they paying all that money for?

It is nice to see the Flyer tradition continue with coaches messing with players just cause they have ego issues

Carolina is knocked out.
Is Brind'amour about to be a free agent? I think that was a disappointing end to the year for the Hurricanes, esp. since they stocked up for a change.

I had Carolina/ Dallas final, so that's out.

I don't think they resign either of the guys they picked up at he tdl. They need a goalie, and I think they need a more agrressive forward..they have a lot of skill, but not that buzzsaw with skill. I thought Bunting was a step in that direction. They just seem to be missing an element.

Anyway..do they replace Brind'amour?

he has been there a while. sometimes you need to make a change for both parties benefit.

now that being said they may have a very different look next season with a decent amount of new players. so maybe they keep him, if he wants to stay. he may want a new challange like the leafs.

Canes, Sens, and Sabres in the East are going to be very interesting how they approach their rosters.

As an immigrant myself, I can tell you -no resources and convenience arranged by the team can heal home sickness. It takes a lot of determination to get through it.

The Flyers are under the cap with no LTIR and all the retained salary. The stat is misleading. They can easily put Ellis on LTIR.

Look at how much LTIR is on the teams behind them. They will all have to be cap compliant with no LTIR before the season starts if I understand the cap correctly.

It's not nearly as bad as it looks.

11 UFA's and 6 RFA's. Only $27mil to work with. Going to be tough to ice a team next season that is as talented as the one that lost night.

Side note: I think the Flyers and the Canes could be trade partners.

It is easily manageable for sure. Other "rebuilding" teams have millions of dollars of space though. Just does not look good for a team in the Flyers situation.

Yes I think he leaves. They have greatly underperformed in the playoffs under his system and the team loaded with free agents is going to have a major overhaul. I see a mutual; parting of the ways in Carolina.

It would be perfectly acceptable for a contending team. However, for a team as far from a Cup as Philly, you’d like to see more available cap space.

Cap Friendly lists the roster at 19 of 23 - so before LTIR they have 500K to round out the roster. My understanding is they can not use LTIR until the season begins - they have to be cap-compliant before using LTIR - so it is actually worse than it looks

That I can agree with. But I'm not going to run the team down for something that is really a non issue. Especially when they have 35 million in cap space (so far) for next season.

And WAY worse for the teams behind them on the list.
