It's not though. They need push from the blue line not defensive defensemen. - fattybeef
That push won't be coming from Seth Jones - take that to the bank. The Leafs have other pressing needs as do the Hawks.
Any kind of reasonable offer and Tanev signs in Toronto. To play defence, not rack up meanigless points in the regular season. |

Personally I really don't agree that there are so many teams with space and willingness to take on the salary. It's not eating the cap for one season or two, but 3 years of 9 million, and 22 million real dollars paid out just to get one more draft choice. I think most teams would push for more than just an 11th overall pick.
Not to mention, once you work out a deal, Skinner has to agree to it with his full no movement clause, so likely the pool of teams shrinks even more. Even flipping him in the final year of his deal might be really difficult with that kind of AAV and his erratic production. He is the kind of player that really depends on others to be productive, I would ask for more or pass. - breadbag
I don’t think this trade will happen. I am just saying the return for taking on bad contract might be less today than it was 5 to 8 years ago. |

I’d bet Marner, Matthews et all are watching this Ranger Panther game and are happy their days consist of golf and BBQs. I can’t even imagine how they’d fare with the intensity and physicality as the games get more real. |

2-3 Mil still seems to be worth a 2nd or high 3rd, though every offseason sets a new price

I think Treviling will try and sign Pesce before Tanev, but he did acquire Tanev when he was GM of Calgary.

Seeing as a few others were dropping the odd paraphrased Letterkenny reference ( 10 ply, not 2 ply ... Marner ain't that tough) ... love how Keeso name checks Bedard in the trailer...

Bedard is Canada’s 13th forward today. A couple bad giveaways and an ill timed penalty put him in the doghouse. Now it’s up to him to earn his way back out. Toronto has a number of, me first play for personal stats guys, it’s best to get that mindset out of him now. |

Not sure what the point of this is? Wouldn’t this be expected?

Button has Lindstrom as the 10 best draft pick now.
Interesting here's his top 10

By the way i saw it with Hughes in the Oilers series, i saw it with Fox last night, i don't want defenseman who are afraid of contact. |

The one prognosticator who I completely ignore is Craig Button. He has consistently shown he’s way out of touch. |

He may have helped Bedard here. Kane and Sharp needed a boot in the ass from Q for not being diligent defensively and for taking bad penalties. |

Bedsy has been getting some decent ice time this game. Was just out with the 1st line (Tavares, Dubois) |

The starting lineup showed him as the 13th forward. Good on the coach for giving Bedard the opportunity to get out of the doghouse. Hopefully he learned from it and can get better ice time than last game. |

I’d also expect not all top 10 picks are doing well in a given season, wouldn’t you? |

I would expect all teams whether best or worst to have some top 10 picks, either by draft, trade or free agency.

Has an assist, thought he had an assist on the first goal too but he didn't touch it, and has had some great looks.

amazing the amount of people slagging on Bedard. He's 18 and doing better than McDavid in his first WC. MCDavid was even a year older.
Its like people expect him to score every time he has the puck.
This is why we can't have nice things.
