Flames haven’t been relevant forever.
Only winning McD has changed that for the Oilers or would be irrelevant.

As for the Battle of Alberta it’s the fans more than the teams & the hype is only there & nowhere else.

All in all overall out west is more entertaining hockey than out east in Canada. Leaf & Hab nation are huge but it’s 1 team truly that is relevant the Leafs.

Also agree that after watching the eastern games all winter and then tuning in to the west at 10pm it's like..."what...the he77...are these beasts ON??" haha So much more grind than the eastern teams.
Also agree that the total fluke arrival of McDavid really turned around the Oilers' fortunes from the dead years and draft "busts". Draisaitl was a pretty great pick as well. (I have a few friends that played and they ALL (like ALL of them) say that both Drai and McD will walk as UFA's. I'm not sure I agree, or like hearing it, but guys that used to play in EDM agree that...."don't play in EDM" lol I hope they're wrong.

I could see Utah having interest in Hronek and Hoglander. It would be sweet to get someone like Conor Geekie as a return. Utah currently has zweo nhl defensemen signed for next season.

Agreed. My point has always been that I find Canucks fans especially arrogant considering they have never won a Cup ever - and they celebrate ‘almost a’ and ‘well we won a round’ and ‘we won the division’. To me those are all cancelation or participation awards. Who cares - the Cup matters and when you don’t win it’s a fail….but everyone can celebrate what they want right. Ball players go crazy with champagne just making the post season so why not I guess.
