I really liked him at the U18's. He was all over ice. If Connelly can get past his off-ice issues, someone is going to get one helluva player. and I would be thrilled is they snag Skahan with their early 3rd RD pick. Big, mobile and has a mean streak.

Imo Davidson and company have assembly a lot of compete and fast skaters high hockey IQ , which I like a lot, now there is a need for compete players that play smart and with and edginess to their game and some road graters to balance out the lineup same on defensive

If KD keeps #18 I think he’ll go off the board and draft Dean Letourneau.

I know it be strech with his off ice issues but connelly a possibility. I still think Davidson uses that 18th pick to either move up in the draft or to acquire player like necas for an example. There are rumors that there is a deal in place between Carolina and Vancouver with necas going to the Canucks and will be announced after the holiday. Piggy backing off my previous statement of having to add grit and edginess. Most likely not happening but would you trade the 2nd overall pick to Ottawa for Tkachuk and the 7th overall pick. Then draft a defense man at 7 and Hage at 18.

The second overall pick alone isn’t getting Tkachuk, and definitely not Tkachuk and a first. IF …. Tkachuk were available the Hawks two picks, this year plus one of their picks next year probably isn’t enough.

A guy slated to go late in the second early in the third, Cole Beaudoin is a gritty player who plays hard two way game, has a great shot but isn’t super fast. He’s the reason the phrase ‘skates well for a big guy’ was invented. However he is apparently super fit and very strong.

Seems more likely to be a pick at 34 than 18.

One thing that has been pretty apparent in these playoffs, dressing tough guys hasn't done much if anything to deter team's taking liberties against the skilled players. I mean team toughness is still a thing, but deterrent not so much.

Pretty sure that was Darth sarcasm. Why would KD trade up to pick a guy who’s ranked in the second or third round. I think he’s after Sennecke

It never has been. I always laugh when someone suggests, as they always do, that Chicago should get player X to protect someone on the Hawk roster. I agree toughness is an element the team needs, and that includes toughness of mind to play in tough areas on the ice. But if a player wants to target someone on your roster, no one can prevent it.

Agreed
I believe that three of the four teams remaining are the best teams in the league. Not Edmonton.

Could see each of the top three winning The Holy Grail

Other: I don’t believe that Utah GM is needing to bring in a name player. People want to see hockey in Utah; instead their GM needs to make a very good selection at #6

I would bet that KD is lukewarm to sign Kane. Instead the type forward who could help make two offensive lines respectable and functioning; this could mean someone comparable to Foligno.
I would not overpay for Necas and I would rather either draft hopefully a forward at # 18. If we move up I am not against KD seeing best choices is two dmen. We are about one month away from draft day

I think jirachek will be in that range of 15 to 18 draft the Russia or big centerman at 2 then rd d man in that range in the second round a center and another d man preferably with some bite to his game.

Sarcasm? What is this sarcasm you speak of?

I’d take Letourneau with either 2nd round pick.

Watching Draft previews of the players rated in the #18 range. I can see KD picking Trevor Connelly. Fits into what he's building speed.

Connelly brings off ice baggage, of which this franchise has had plenty of in recent years. I don’t think they touch him.

He took a picture of a swastika that a team mate made and posted it to social media. Not the smartest, but also not something I'd really count as major baggage. he has atoned for that with community service.

Well, #GoSensGo    Brady Tkachuk’s name is going around in trade talks, according to Jeremy Rutherford.

Make it happen KD!
Korch + toronto 1st rounder 2025 + 18th in this year's draft.
Then draft a d-man at #2 or Demidov

This draft is a hard one to predict, starting at #2. Ideally the top 3-5 would be set like most previous years, but this year its wide open after #1. It's really difficult to predict who the Hawks will take at #18, if there is a run on d-men or forwards earlier in the round that will impact who's available at the Hawks 2nd first round pick.

But there are lots of good options if they make it that far - Hage, Boisvert, Brandsegg-Nygard, Jiricek, Helenius, and EJ Emery. Emery might be a stretch, but if the Hawks take Demidov at #2 and want a d-man at #18 he could be the best option.

I like Letourneau at #34, but I'm not sure if he makes to to the 2nd round.
