Or maybe they just treat him as a rental for one year. Who knows. I suppose it would depend on a potential return if they were to move him. A 3 year deal at a lower cap hit makes a lot of sense

Same reason I don't want Tanev, if you're going to go that route you may as well resign Meyers. These are easy signing, I'm looking for some more magic from this management. Skinner isn’t the reason the Oilers lost, he played a good game. Unlucky on the 4th goal, Robertson is a talented goal scorer.
Defence could use a few more solid players, unfortunately for the Oilers Holland will ignore that and trade for another goal scorer.
All that whining about no penalty calls worked for them for a bit until the Stars adjusted.

Ya, definitely explains a bit of the poor series versus the Oilers. He was a good signing, fantastic in the room and definitely a mentor with his cup experience. That being said, we can replace him for less as he is clearly starting to slow down.
