True however Vegas won the cup last year with 16 CDN players. Look back at some of the recent cup champs as well. Not saying they 'all' have to be CDN but it is a factor that can't be denied. We aren't gonna win a cup with 3 CDN players lol.

Necas would add much needed scoring punch (potentially) as since losing Kuzmenko Lafferty and Mikheyev have been mediocre. Center with right hand shot too. But losing Hronkek as a RHD would suck but man he was disappointing last half of season and PO's.

They're all elite athletes with insane drive. Back in the day it might have been a thing, but not now.

The league is also like 40%+ Canadian, so teams on average will have more Canadians than other nationalities.

I think Carolina needs D with their signings/departures. Not sure who else they would want. I think I remember they had interest in Hoggy, but that wouldn't make $$ sense from the Canucks side

True it is ever changing and with over-expansion and the talent pools getting watered down I'm sure the percentages will change even further. But I still think it's a current factor. Gary is shooting for 36 teams and 20 teams in the PO's so the quality of the Hockey will dwindle even more over time. Regardless of Nationalities.
