But maybe Utah gives up their 6th pick. - jd250
why would utah give up their pick when your first pick in your franchise is always your most important |

If I was trading TK I would want a 1st round pick, a 2nd and a prospect. The problem with TK is he is due a big extension, so that will limit the teams that will want him. - jd250
Without the security of knowing he could be resigned, or resigning him, you're not going to get that. Best bet would be to extend him irregardless. Then you can trade him later if you give him a modified NMC that doesn't kick in til next year or you cound give him a full NMC if he gave a discount on his services and keep him. He's our best player, and he wants to stay. That's something lots of teams wish they had.

dont see joel having this kind of value. yes you will have to add.
dont think joel and florida 1st gets you #5 - hello it's me 2050
That's why I said take back a deal like Anderson. Money matches and I know MON wants to move that contract.
I have no need for Deslaurier and can send him to Lehigh and play anderson in the bottom 6 if needed.

now that ryan mc is back in Tampa, will they look to move a dman.....like serg or cernak |

they have Winnipeg 1st and someone else 1st in 25. Maybe those 2 and Anderson for Joel + something works better |

You just said, the Flyers lack quality skill and talent. Farabee has neither! Just face it, you are wrong about Farabee, he is just an OK player with OK skill. The Flyers can do better. - jd250
Obviously, you didn't understand the statement.

Only technically. Many people say that because they want to make a splash immediately in their new town, they will look to add good players right now. As opposed to drafting a guy who may not even be on the team for 2-3 years.
I would imagine the franchise cares more about immediate success than normally.

Hey Bill,
What do you think the chances are that they try Michkov at Center? I remember reading that they experimented with it in the KHL, but it got abandoned. That was around when he was getting snubbed by SKA so I don't know if that was a hockey move or a political one. If the Flyers get a hold of him during this period where he still is and unfinished product, do you think that might be something they try? |

Go review Farabee's goals last year and then come back to me. You are the only one here that is uniformed. - jd250
I did review his goals the first time you made that stupid statement. You're wrong. In replied directly to you with a complete breakdown of how his 22 goals were scored. Of course you ignored it because you don't deal in reality but in fantasy. It also shows that you viewing that as a negative, shows that you don't know the game of hockey. Around the net is how goals are scored. Which is why its labeled the high danger zone. |

I didn't say that. Of course Farabee has talent, he is an NHL player. I just said he has OK skill. Nothing exceptional. Not sure you can really argue with this, can you? - jd250
The Flyers don't have a single exceptional player on their team. You continue to show an inability to accurately assess any player.

Waddell out as GM in Carolina. Tulsky named interim GM, which is very interesting. Waddell has been rumored to have interviewed with Columbus. |

Wait .. I'm sorry, Jake is not a much better player than TK. Come on, we need to start giving TK some credit here. He is a legitimate 30+ goal scorer that plays 5v5, PK and PP and lead the league in short handed goals. He is a complete player, a leader and an agitator. A lot of teams would love to have TK. - jd250
Konecny is not the player that Guentzel is.

Or they could trade for a player who will go on LTIR to start the season. They had Brent Seabrook on the cap for the last few years- his contract just ended. I am curious how it plays out. |

Personally I hope not. It was an experiment in preseason by their idiot coach that was for like 3 games, who then (IMO) held his lack of success against him when he didn't produce at an unfamiliar position. (sound familiar?)
Once he was sent to Sochi he was back at wing where he belongs.
The Flyers IMO need to set up the entire franchise to benefit this kid in any way possible. Play him where he is most comfortable, implement a system that most benefits his style of play, and on and on. They need to run the whole thing through him as the tip of the spear.

when are you going to realize that trading TK will not bring you a #1 dman or a #1 center.
also stop with the hometown discount nonsense. Every player pretty much says they want to stay wherever it is they are at. it is player speak. - hello it's me 2050
The only hometown advantage is the ability to offer an 8 year deal while everyone else can only offer 7. |

I agree for the most part. However we are developing a kid, vs aquiring an established veteran. A very talented young player, but still 19. I'm hoping we are ready to challenge him to grow, rather than simping to his already impressive skill set. I think now is a good time to see what other untapped potential he's got.

That would be classic Flyers and a continuation of their flawed player development practices. Take a young player, put him in a situation that takes him away from his strengths and try to make him what he's not or tie his hands behind his back to make him a "two way" player.

Dundon's policy is always to open it up to everyone but in all likelihood Tulsky will have the interim tag removed and they'll add another Assistant GM. Probably Justin Williams. |

Versus the flawed player development of many softer teams by not teaching or requiring talented players to backcheck? I'm not saying he's gotta be a checking center, but Defensive responsible does not have to come at the cost of points.
It's a moot point til he gets here and we see where he is, but it's also worth noting he's not a finished product yet. |

Maybe. I would be stunned if he doesn't though. Dundon adores him and keeps asking him to run one of his other companies instead. |
