He was good for a Stanley Cup, a bunch of playoff goals and points for Colorado though. A lot more useful than Kerfoot ever was. Or Barrie.
It would be nice to see Matthews score more than 1 playoff goal after chasing 70 so hard. - Rare_Jewel

My wife’s Uncle is huge into the drilling business. He lives in Colorado now. He’s an engineer and has umpteen patents on all sorts of drilling type stuff, like drill heads and such. Guy is (frank)ing looooooaaaaded. Nicest guy you’ll ever meet as well. |

Typo or not, I'm going to run with it.
And yeah, it takes a lot of patience....although climbing up on the bus shelter and waiving a 9 iron around speeds up the process.

See…there’s the problem. A 2 iron is much longer and would work better. I get that most people don’t carry a 2 iron like I do, but a 3 iron would work well if you’re trying to conserve your driver. You don’t have a Persimmon driver do you? |

True story, I poop you not.
Up until about the early 1990's, there was a combination shooting range and tavern in Tampa called Magnums. It was a split building with separate entrances in a common lobby. You walked in and to the left was the front door of the bar. On the right was the door to the range. You could even rent guns by the hour to shoot. As long as you weren't noticeably intoxicated, you could have some drinks, walk across the lobby, and go shoot guns.

Double OT.
Body and brain are tired.
Mistakes get made.
For instance, at the start of the 2nd OT i grabbed another beer. Not the best as the game was over 35 seconds later and i was tired AF - Fakepartofme

Honestly have to commend the way the Panthers play hockey. Rags score, and the Panthers immediately go thug style. |

I think I hate them because they remind me of the Lightning in their peak years, just minus the cups so far. Deep and skilled, pain in the ass to play against, and dirtier than necessary. |

Everything here is complicated when it comes to regulation.
And here's where it may get weirder: the provincial government a few years ago allowed some (but not all) grocery stores to start selling beer, cider and wine.
Some grocery stores now want to get rid of it. It's not worth the hassle.
Because in Ontario all alcohol is heavily regulated. Most importantly, there is a price floor that you can't drop below. This was put in prior to the Canada-US Free Trade Agreement - it was a non-tariff barrier that prevented the big US breweries from flooding the market with their cheap crap and killing the Canadian brewing industry.
So the profit margins are not great for beer. Many grocery stores are realizing having a full aisle of beer is less profitable than whatever products they had before in that aisle. - Atomic Wedgie
Additionally, theft is incredibly high in those stores.

That's a very weird trade. Mostly because that's the kind of thing you'd see at the draft when teams know how it's going and who's left on the board. - Scabeh
Super weird seeing it in May. Chicago has extra second round picks this year, can't keep all the prospects anyway. They now hold #2 pick and #18.

I like Max, but absolutely NO way do I offer him $5-6Mil for 5-6 years!! Are you nuts!? He hasn’t lasted more than a year or two anywhere!! You give Max $5-$6 but won’t pay Hyman $5. Get real. Not happening. |

Reading some of the posts reminded me of one of our local watering holes in past years. Went there a million times after the wife and I were first married.
Never really went back much in the last twenty years , but stopped for lunch two years ago.
Was shocked when I recognized the waitress who served us. I asked her how long she had worked there. 45 years and the only job she ever had.
Her husband had retired but she just wasn't ready to go. Loved the people too much she said.
So as we chatted, she said "do you remember when they had a smoking section and a non- smoking section separated by absolutely nothing."
Those were the days.

Bearing in mind that the Hyman contract did come up during the flat cap and cap was $6.2m less than it is now - and not expected to continue rising anytime soon - so the cap hit would be more palatable. I don't think comparing Max to Hyman is too far right now.
That said, I like $4m x 4. I'd go higher in term, but in salary I wouldn't be too comfortable going higher than $4.5m. Max just turned 29, so I'd prefer not to go more than 5 years if I had a choice.
I think this 6x6 talk was started by Pierre LeBrun because he's a piece of refuse. Most other objective numbers have him going lower term, lower salary (2 x $3.5, 2x $3, etc.). If he does want to be here, there wouldn't be any problem going lower term and lower salary and keeping him here and then just going term by term at the appropriately earned rate after that.
