Legitimate question: What am I missing? I see a baby giraffe who is ultimately a healthy scratch in the playoffs (even though he plays a few minutes a game).
What is his up side? What is his ceiling? - TC4145
There isn't any upside and his ceiling is just what he is now. Skates in circles looking for hits and gets about as many PIMs as TOI...without fighting
He isn't even the last scratch if the Rangers are healthy and won't make the roster next regular season |

Rangers have lost 1 game with him in the lineup. Got murdered by Florida without him in game 1.
People say he only plays 5-10 minutes a game. So does Lomberg for Panthers but I've seen his name floated around here to acquire. - DirtyDan
“Murdered”. That game was tied until late.
Lomberg is scratched tonight, though. So is Cousins.
Lorentz and your boy (not you specifically) Okposo on Stenlund’s wings.
They played well vs TB. Maurice changing it up because
NY bottom 6 have been the ones with the daggers. |

Eichel was an absolute bumhole while here, pushed for a big contract and the C without earning it and the management put trust in him, gave him what he wanted, only for him to demand a trade 1 year later. You can argue whether or not the Sabres handled his injury properly, personally I think the Sabres were kind there, but either way, there is no room to argue Jack wasn't a complete child during his time here. - QuinnFan
A few years removed, it's easy to understand his frustration with the organization. I've never heard a bad word about him in Vegas.

Just like our record with Samuelsson in the lineup 2 years ago lol like it meant anything this season
The Rangers got ran over in game 3 too but shesterkin is a wizard even when he lets 4 in and bobvrosky had arguably his worst game of the playoffs
Takes a stupid penalty on reinhart who promptly buries one on the PP leading to rempe sitting just about the rest of the game after that
Lots of value there |

The only way out of Rempe Madness is to accept you will lose. |

Rangers fans love him. Love the energy he brings and gives the team. Hes undeniable at this point.
You love to bring up the penalty but wouldnt give him an ounce of respect for his help on the Rangers goal before that.

Then I wrote it wrong lol. In actuality, the only Jack cares about is Jack. I can point to examples of him mistreating workers at the arena, to teammates like Tage, to having his agent voice lies about him being in extreme pain, then taking the ice to practice less than a week later. He's a bumhole, always has been, always will be. |

5'9 fourth liner. And his names been brought more than once. Absolutely useless player.

If he was so helpful he wouldn't have sat the rest of the game
Its cool I get it people love watching him run around trying to take heads off. If I was a ranger fan im sure I would too. People loved Kaleta here but he could play more than 4 mins a night
Rempe won't make the roster next year it doesn't really matter what the fans want |

He has better hands than you’d think. But he’s not doing much this series, and been running around a bit. Probably had the refs’ microscope starting to zoom in on him.
I love Tasmanian devil Lomberg, but Lorentz is probably a better all around player.
Edit Lomberg was out with flu when playoffs started. Team was rolling and coach wasn’t gonna mess with the lineup. |

5'9 plays like he's 6'4
Not saying I like him but again, has the ability to play over double rempes avg TOI
Does that make him twice as useless as rempe or half? |

Man, they start going nutty when he’s 20 feet away and incoming. It’s crazy they love that guy.
He makes a great door in front of goalie, too. |

I can understand frustration, what I can't understand is strong arming a team to be the franchise player a year before the frustration leads to a trade demand. We were awful when he asked for the 8 year extension...
If Vegas starts to falter, more will come out, but I'll just say the cocaine and partying issues haven't lessened. The piper will get paid in the end. |

Almost expect that both of them are somewhere on the Sabre's offseason list.
Budget ways to get what some of the more popular grit names bring.

IMO, if you have a guy like that in a leadership position on your team, you're going to lose anyways, so I actually agree that I'm glad they valued character over skill in that instance. I don't think the team would be better off with him. There's a reason why he didn't get answered when asking for the C in Vegas...which he actually did I guess. |
