Anyone can ask out, but there's no guarantee they're traded to a good team just because Skunk and Jack were. They should be careful what they wish for.
Everyone from the owner down to Brett Murray were culpable for what happened this past year. Not just Adams.
Like Dahlin said, everybody needs to have the best summer of their career, and I believe he meant management just as much as his teammates.
It really has to be all hands on deck. Anyone who's won a Stanley Cup says it's the hardest trophy to win in all of sports and everyone in the organization needs to be rowing in the same direction. I've heard it a gazillion times. Everyone has a job to do. Players need to worry about playing better, and less about what management is doing.
Like you said yesterday, you don't know what combination of players will work the best. Maybe the only outside guy he brings is Scott Laughton, Kulich and Savoie make the team and that's that and they go out win 50 games.
Point being, the players just need to worry about playing better. - Powerslave

So you’re saying Adams was intimidated by a meatball? - washedup20
They work “together” as a collective group. |

But them asking out isn't the point, the point is Adams didn’t do enough again to stop them from asking out. It's Adams job to give this team the best opportunity to Win Hockey Games, Do you think he's done a good job of doing that the last couple years. Players definitely deserve some blame, leadership of this Team was obviously a joke and that is on Adams to. Building is over, Adams needs to Try and Win. |

Do I think he's done a good job? It's a mixed bag.
He rebuilt the pipeline, which was needed. Everyone (not just Sabres fans) raves about our prospect pool. He's neglected the NHL team at times. Should've gotten a real goalie for 22-23. Should've gotten someone in here when Quinn went down.
But like you said earlier, he's inexperienced. That's not his fault. That's on Pegula. Adams was thrust into a very difficult situation. Hired to be the hatchet man to fire a bunch of Sabres employees? That's a terrible spot to be put in.
I agree that he needs to go out and get some "better" players. He's the GM. Obviously he's the only one that can do that, and hopefully all these supposed "conversations" he's had with other GMs start to pay dividends.
The time to start winning was yesterday.

Adams has done a good job with building the franchise talent level.
Granato last year did a terrible job using it.
Adams needs to make more mitts / Bryan trades that help this team.
It’s no longer acceptable to sign “veteran leaders” who absolutely suck and bring nothing to the team winning games.
Time to sign some of real talent or trade for it

This narrative is as bad, if not worse than the good dafting garbage. The NHL roster is significantly weaker than when he took over. |

The Sabres are NOT a serious franchise.
We hated or at least disliked Rosrigues here and he’s fire in Florida. People said that he was only here bc he was buddies with switched from college.
Reinhardt, Kulikov, and all the other form Sabres shine elsewhere. Wonder why?
Except for Risto. He sucked. |

He is famously collaborative. He traded for Greenway because Don liked him, he signed Eakin because Ralph liked him, he lets Forton handle the draft. Terry loves the obviously amazing Zemgus Girgensons, so he's been here for 36 seasons.
Has Adams ever had his own vision for the team? Being collaborative is good but does Adams actually have a vision? I really don't think so other than PWWTBH. If someone asks Kevyn Adams what his vision for the team is, you'll get some version of:
"That's a great question, Timmy. You know, we want people who are excited to put on that sweater and play hard for this team."
Rarely will you get anything resembling style of play or body comp or anything like that. - Hank Balling
To be fair to Adams a bit, do other GMs really answer that other than "we want to be hard to play against" or other such clichés?

How’s Rempe doing? Asking for buff36
This game was all about speed and skill. Okpsoso looks completely out of place and can’t keep up |

Rempe sucks
That game was all about Florida smothering the Rangers for the last 30 mins. They are a steamroller. Okposo couldn't keep up on the sabres |

They better finish the job before they kiss half the roster goodbye.

Florida is obviously loaded with talent, but they're also a textbook case of hard work and sticking to their system. |

“Okposo looks like he lives in a garage on the wrong side of the 95” Barkov finished with… - washedup20
Another quote from that article which I almost included was Zito using an adams phrase, with one key difference.
He said “players who WE want to be here....” |

I’ve been preaching I want a team with speed and skill.
Washed up and buff36 want more toughness and slow players
Then I get told by both of them I’m an idiot. |
